Savour the natural beauty of the enchanting Gower Peninsula when you stay at this cottage in picturesque South Wales. Sleeping six guests, the inviting retreat, which is attached to the owner’s home but enjoys its privacy, is situated on a 100-acre farm near Wernffrwd, 2 miles from Llanrhidian. With magnificent views and a large garden, the three-bedroom holiday home is ideally positioned for long walks and days out to beautiful beaches. It also welcomes canine companions making it perfect for those eager to bring along a four-legged friend.

Make your way into the two-storey cottage and enter to find it has a very generous, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner at its heart. Settle down in this comfortable, beamed space to relax after your busy days out exploring the Gower. Light the wood burner on chilly evenings and choose a good film on TV to watch together. There is also a shower room/utility at this level. As the day draws to a close, wander upstairs to enjoy a good night’s sleep in one of the three bedrooms. These include a double bedroom, with en-suite bathroom, and two twins. There is also a family bathroom. Spill out into the sizeable garden to play games with the children and dine outside as you lose yourselves in the views. There is private parking available here.

Choose between an array of golden, sandy beaches for swimming, surfing and playing games on the sand. Broughton Bay and Oxwich Bay are both 8 miles from the cottage. Have a trip out to the National Trust’s Whiteford National Nature Reserve, 6.5 miles away. With its stretching sand dunes and pine woodland, this secluded area is a lovely place to let the dog run free, as well as to paddle and make sandcastles. Have a day out to Swansea, 10 miles away.

You need a 4x4 to safely negotiate the long drive. There are 4 big steps up to the entrance and without a rail I had difficulty getting up and down. The furniture was very tired but it did mean we didnt have to worry about the dogs. The garden was perfect for the dogs and the property was warm. However, we thought wed take the sheets off but if weRead mored seen what was underneath the sheets I doubt we would have stayed. The toilet brushes were disgusting still with paper and st attached. Lovely views but the mud to open and shut the gate is a problem. We followed a normal saloon down the very long drive and it bottomed several times. Luckily we were in a 4x4! Hide
