Unwind where the coast meets the countryside, just outside the pretty village of Trefin. The largest of four farm cottages that have been skilfully converted into stylish self-catering properties, this family and pet-friendly retreat is perfect for a peaceful break in beautiful Pembrokeshire.

This cosy cottage is a fusion of original features and modern must-haves; striking stone flooring and exposed structural beams complement contemporary leather sofas and a sleek kitchen area within its sociable open-plan living space. Deep windowsills and whitewashed walls affirm the age of the property – and there’s even a piano for old-fashioned family entertainment – but all the home-from-home essentials are here, including underfloor heating, a dishwasher and utility room, the latter shared with the other properties close by. Upstairs, two peaceful bedrooms promise a good night’s rest; choose from a double or a twin – each has wooden furniture and floorboards. Neighbouring residences can be booked by friends or family if you want a bigger-group getaway, and they share use of the 13 acres of land here, which include a children’s play area with swings, slide and a fireman’s pole. There’s also a seating area where you can enjoy food and drinks in the fresh air, along with sea views.

Walk to the pub and shops in Trefin, or follow the footpath to Aberfelin beach where at low tide there’s sand, shingle and rock pools to explore. For a longer outing, you can join the Pembrokeshire Coast Path here; in one direction you’ll reach Porthgain (2 miles) which has eateries, art galleries and a gorgeous harbour. There’s an equally picturesque cove and village at Abercastle, a mile in the opposite direction. Slightly further afield, Britain’s smallest city, St Davids, is 8 miles and Fishguard is 10 miles.

Absolutely love the location of this property. Quiet, close to the coastal path but with lots of places to explore. There is a big open field for the dog and all the home comforts needed for a perfect break. Clean, warm and cosy - we will be back!

My husband and I enjoyed a very peaceful stay at this lovely cottage with our two greyhounds during a very wet week in November. The cottage was well placed for exploring Pembrokeshire and had everything you needed for a week's stay. We would definitely stay again!
