Enjoy the peace of the Pembrokeshire coast at this single-storey property, close to the pretty village of Trefin. With two bedrooms, access to acres of countryside and a wonderful children’s play area, it’s pet- and family-friendly – and other cottages close by can be booked if you want a bigger group getaway.

Sharing its courtyard setting with three other holiday homes, this detached property has all the essentials for a relaxing break, including lovely views across the countryside to the sea. It welcomes guests into a contemporary, large lounge where you can stretch out on the sofas, catch up with your favourite TV programmes and enjoy home-cooked meals prepared in the adjacent Shaker-style kitchen. When it’s time to retire, two restful bedrooms beckon, one with a double bed and the other with twins. A shower room completes the convenience and comfort of the ground floor layout; if you need to do any laundry while you’re here, there’s a washing machine in the shared utility area on site.

Take a lovely walk to the pubs and shops in Trefin, or head off on the footpath to Aberfelin Beach where a sand and shingle stretch with rockpools is revealed at low tide. If you’re feeling more energetic, take a longer route along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, along which you can reach Porthgain in one direction (2 miles), or the cove and village of Abercastle in the other (1 mile). The UK’s smallest city of St David’s is just 8 miles away, and you can also visit Fishguard where you can enjoy kayaking or paddleboarding on the river, visit the old fort or take in some of the fabulous views along the Marine Path.

Fabulous location, within a short walk through fields of both Trefin and Porthgain so we thoroughly enjoyed popping down to The Shed for exquisite fish and chips! Great cottage - seriously thinking of returning for another epic holiday in wonderful Pembrokeshire.

We had a lovely stay at the Cowshed. Situation is really perfect near Pembrobshire Cost Path. Welcome basket was very much appreciated.

With the cottage advertised with a number of companies feel no loyalty to a particular company. Didn't like the 500 deposit or the 20 non-refundable charge for breakages options which all the companies now include but was new to us. We booked through Dog-Friendly Retreats, booking was processed through Wales Cottage Holidays but this email comes frRead moreom Original Cottages. Would recommend the cottage to friends but tell them to book with whichever company gives the best deal at the time. Hide

The property was not situated within 0.1km of a shop, as advertised on website. Otherwise, this was in a fantastic location. There was an ironing board at the property, but no iron. We had to clean some kitchen cupboard interiors, the hob and some pots on our arrival, as these were dirty. One mug had a crack in it, so could not be used. Beds comforRead moretable, but sofas were not. However, it was suitable for a week. There was nothing to light the barbecue with, but the welcome hamper was a lovely touch. The door was very hard to open and close due to the bottom seal. Elderly people would struggle with this. It is a potential fire hazard. The grounds were excellent, although we did have to pick up litter from around the play area on arrival, before allowing our dog out. Hide

Cottage was lovely. Owner friendly, location and facilities great. Some more detailed information was lacking from the website e.g. providing tea, coffee and milk, shared washing machine, tea towels etc. When we arrived at the cottage on Friday at 5pm, it had not been cleaned. I tried to call the line which is meant to be open til 6pm, but no oneRead more answered. Luckily, we managed to find the owner and resolve the issue, but otherwise the situation would have been very difficult. Hide
