Take in awe-inspiring views from the balcony, patio or conservatory of this remarkable lodge on the River Wye. Benefiting from an exceptional rural location yet just 2 miles from the bustling hub of Builth Wells, a stay here offers all guests the chance to truly get immersed in country life. The lodge itself sleeps seven guests across four beautifully presented bedrooms. Spend time as a family either indoors or out, making use of the sprawling garden with remarkable river views or stepping inside for fun-filled evenings of snooker and pool.

This holiday let is authentically rustic with original beams, rich oak fixtures and a farmhouse kitchen with stone-flagged flooring and a working Aga. The kitchen acts as a real social hub of the house, complete with a breakfast table on one side. Elsewhere there are two large lounges to relax in, one with the adjacent games conservatory, an impressive inglenook fireplace with a wood burner and a Smart TV to turn on as you curl up in a cushy sofa or armchair. The master bedroom is truly stunning with French doors leading out onto a private balcony.

A superb base for fishermen, the River Wye is mere metres away and plenty of private beats provide day tickets close by. Those who prefer to leave the rods at home will enjoy lacing up walking boots and setting off on a hike, following The Wye Valley Walk which passes by mere meters away or setting off in the car to embark on adventures far and wide from the Brecon Beacons National Park (18 miles).

A fantastic, spacious yet cosy lodge, perfectly quiet (apart from the owls and the river) far away from every day life but only 10 minutes drive from the town, this place is highly recommended for a "get away from it all" stay.

This is a really nice property in a perfect location. We Booked this lodge for the riverside location for kayaking and the snooker table The location is amazing and we enjoyed kayaking, walking and stargazing on clear nights with shooting stars right from the door. One of the loveliest places weve stayed. The pictures definitely dont do it justice. There is nothing to see or hear apart from countryside, animals and birds. Ideal place to completely switch off.

A lot to recommend this property: so very peaceful, views outstanding, feel like you have the river all to yourself, so much wildlife, dark skies at night, house much better than in photos and (spacious and very comfortable), amazing walks on the doorstep, ten minute drive to shops, supermarket, cafes and pubs. Not many amazing restaurants or shoRead moreps in the area, but plenty of nice cafes (Lakeside Cafe Llandidrod Wells, Cafe Cwtch in Builth). For days out we went to Haye-on-Wye (vintage, antiques, bookshops, good eateries), climbed Pen Y Fan, sunned ourselves in Aberystwyth (amazing choice of restaurants and lots to do) and paddle boarding in Llandidrod. The Zip World climbing tower was great for our teenagers. Hide

The description and photos really do not do the lodge justice. It is superbly comfortable, location could not be better if you want peace and quiet, but it is close enough to see the many sights of this beautiful part of Wales

We are a family of 5 adults and our dog stayed at this beautiful lodge with a wonderful outlook over the river. Plenty of red kites were spotted in the mornings having breakfast under the canopy. The birdsong and gentle mooing of the nearby cows were the only sounds we could hear. Being away from the traffic was bliss. The lodge had everything we nRead moreeeded. Good quality bedding and soft towels. Several hours were spent around the pool table after a busy day of sight seeing and an enjoyable break was had by all. Hide

The router and internet connection need sorting out, a few other small issues to do with some of the kitchen kit, but dealt with by the extremely capable housekeeper, Jo. Jo was simply brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. We are already deciding what dates to return.

Fantastic location, beautiful cosy property, fantastic kitchen supplies, views and bathroom facilities. The only issue our children had was the low level of Wi-Fi (but that didnt bother us, it was nice to be a little off grid for a week!)
