This apartment in the heart of Saundersfoot puts a family of four within strolling distance of all the resort’s premier holiday attractions. With the golden sands of Saundersfoot just across the road and all the village’s friendly shops and eateries on the doorstep, this beachside bolthole is perfectly located for a family break.
Set in a prime spot on The Strand, the first-floor accommodation is accessed via a steel staircase (with handrails) from a shared hallway; step inside and you’ll find a welcoming open-plan living space with two sofas and a TV/DVD in the lounge area, a retro-styled dining suite and a compact kitchen. Contemporary wooden flooring and shuttered windows add to the uncluttered appeal of a space that’s designed to emphasise together-time. There’s a similarly relaxed feel to the two bedrooms here – one has a double bed and the other has a truckle bed: a single bunk over a double which sleeps two. A smart, tiled shower room completes the home-from-home comfort. The beach is on your doorstep, but you can also soak up the sunshine and enjoy the sea breeze from a private decked area which has outdoor furniture and is reached via stairs from the front door.
Start each day with a stroll along the sands – to one end, the rock pools between Saundersfoot beach and neighbouring Coppet Hall are always fun to explore. Follow the Pembrokeshire Coast Path further and, 7 miles east, at low tide, the beach at Amroth reveals petrified tree stumps dating from the Ice Age. Head 3.5 miles west instead and you’ll reach iconic Tenby; the town is brimming with independent boutiques and shops. If you enjoy a bike ride, follow the Dramway Trail, a 4-mile traffic-free route along a disused railway line. Alternatively, you could take to the sea with a boat trip from the harbour for a spot of sea fishing, or to see some of the marine mammals that thrive along this coastline.
