  • Set in a tranquil secluded spot on a working farm along the northern edge of the Gower Peninsula

Property code: OC-HH476

Head to this handsome stone barn conversion to enjoy the very best of the picturesque Gower Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Set within working farmland near Wernffrwd, 2 miles from Llanrhidian, the three-bedroom holiday home sleeps six guests and also welcomes their four-legged friend. With beautiful views out over the undulating South Wales countryside, it still features an abundance of gorgeous barn features and has a wood burner for cosy nights in by a roaring fire.

Tear yourselves away from the scenery and wander inside to discover an impressive central lounge with a high vaulted ceiling and a great stone wall. Light the wood burner in here, find your favourite boxset on the Smart TV and simply relax together after all the exertions of the day. Head through to the spacious kitchen/diner to whip up tasty meals for your friends and family and either eat in here or outside, depending on the weather. Also downstairs are the family bathroom and two twin bedrooms, each of which can be made up as a super-king instead if discussed in advance, and each with an en-suite shower room. Follow the stairs up to the first floor to find the final twin bedroom, which can also be arranged as a super-king and has an en-suite bathroom. Spread out into the lawned garden on sunny days to gaze out over the River Loughor, keeping an eye on any children and pets as they play. There is parking here for several cars.

Venture 3.5 miles to see the ruins of Weobley Castle, pausing in Llanrhidian on the way back to dine out in a country pub. Pack your surfboards, costumes and towels and head off to one of the Gower’s many beautiful beaches, try Oxwich Bay or Broughton Bay and, both 8 miles from the property.

  • 3 zip-and-link twin bedrooms which can be made up as super-king-size rooms on request
  • 4 bathrooms – 1 bathroom with shower over the bath and WC, 2 en-suite shower rooms with shower and WC, 1 en-suite bathroom with bath and WC

We had an excellent and enjoyable Christmas at the Barn. It was very comfortable and warm, well equipped and very roomy. The owner responded immediately to any requests. Would most definitely recommend this to anyone who is seeking a remote(ish) holiday in a very comfortable, value for money property.

I would not stay here again. It was extremely noisy, the handles on doors werent working properly so you couldnt close them, this meant they banged through the night with the wind. The attic above the bedroom is very noisy. The water tank (I am guessing) sloshes around all night and makes it difficult to sleep. The beds, although we received maRead morettress toppers eventually, were totally unacceptable. It speaks volumes that the property was rented out in such a condition, it is all quite tired and needs a bit of TLC. The oven door was broken on arrival and we used it as our young children needed their dinner and the glass smashed to pieces. Very dangerous. All in all, a great location, the living area is very spacious, as are all the rooms, but it didnt feel very comfortable being there for the week and I wouldnt return or recommend. I would also not use original cottages again as their communication is extremely poor and they absolved themselves of any responsibility saying it was the owners responsibility, but seeing as the number on the PDF was incorrect and the adjacent property was no help, the company should have assisted further. A large, warm and comfortable property with wonderful views of the Gower peninsula. Access to the property is down a unsurfaced track, which is difficult to traverse.

Brilliant holiday let, couldnt have been more pleased. Its so spacious, warm and well equipped. A very relaxing stay. The location is amazing, very rural with big views big skies and big weather, yet within easy reach of Swansea and all the beauty of The Gower. Would definitely return.

The perfect location for a family with 4 young kids. Close enough to hit the beaches but enough outside space for them to enjoy and farm animals on hand too. The stay made even more special by the farm dogs visiting us daily for a play!
