Enjoy stunning mountain views from this charming and tranquil cottage, as you relax and recharge with the burble of the nearby stream as a backdrop. Ideal for couples, friends and families, it has Cadair Idris on its doorstep and a fabulous beach within easy reach.
Surrounded by fields and mountains, this beautiful former farmhouse is semi-detached to a cottage for two and located on a working farm. It’s packed with original features such as stone walls and old beams, but still feels fresh and bright. In the country-style kitchen you can cook delicious meals in the four-oven Aga and dine at the large table, before heading either to the lounge and its inglenook wood burner or the snug where there’s a piano. Upstairs, all three bedrooms have fabulous views, and there’s a choice of the family bathroom or the generously sized shower room. Outside, the lawned garden has picnic furniture so you can enjoy a morning coffee or an evening meal while gazing at the scenery and drinking in the fresh Welsh air.
You’re spoilt for choice for walks from your front door: hike up Cadair Idris itself, the highest mountain in southern Snowdonia, or walk to Castell y Bere (3 miles), the ruins of a Welsh-built fortress. The beach at Tywyn is 9 miles away, a long expanse of sand that’s great for surfing and water sports, and here you can access the coastal path and its spectacular views across Cardigan Bay. Corris is 7.5 miles, a former slate-mining village with opportunities for mountain biking, climbing, walking, fishing and pony trekking. It’s also home to a popular craft centre, a narrow-gauge railway, and underground mines that you can explore by foot or by boat.
