Retreat to this characterful cottage on a working hill farm and enjoy its tranquil setting and gorgeous mountain views. With versatile sleeping accommodation for families or small groups, it’s perfectly positioned for exploring the countryside, beaches, castles and attractions of both Snowdonia and the Llyn Peninsula.
Beautifully designed to blend old and new, the 400-year-old converted farmhouse has a spacious country-style kitchen with a sofa for flopping on while chatting to the cook. After supper, the lounge is a cosy place in which to relax, with exposed beams, a TV and a stone inglenook with an open fire, or you can head into the snug and curl up with a book in complete quiet. There’s also a sleek wet room on the ground floor, while upstairs you’ll find three bedrooms, all with superb views - a king-size, a double and a super-king-size (twin on request) - sharing a family bathroom. Go through the south-facing sun room at the front of the property and you’ll find yourselves on the patio, part of the enclosed garden which is surrounded by open farmland. For cyclists, there’s an outbuilding in which bikes can be stored securely.
The cottage is set on a hilltop overlooking Cardigan Bay and, for meals out, the nearest good pub can be found 3 miles away at Bryncir; travel a further 6 miles to Tremadog or 7.5 miles to Porthmadog for more food choices and shopping. In the busy harbour town of Porthmadog you’ll also find a choice of no less than three narrow-gauge railways. For beach days, head to Criccieth, about 8 miles, or you may wish to drive further into the Llyn Peninsula and explore the coast and countryside of this designated area of outstanding natural beauty.
