Relax and enjoy the outstanding views from this waterside getaway, which is ideal for couples or families looking for a coastal break. It’s located by the harbour in Porthmadog, less than 4 miles from the Snowdonia National Park, and there’s plenty to do within just a few miles, from shops, beaches and mountains to heritage railways and underground caverns.

This reverse-level property makes the most of its gorgeous views with living accommodation on the first floor. After a day’s adventures in North Wales, return to the open-plan living space, where you can conjure up a delicious supper in the compact fitted kitchen, eat at the adjacent dining table with benches, then relax on the comfortable leather seating, perhaps with a tipple and some TV. Floor to ceiling glazing makes this room wonderfully bright and airy, and a patio door leads to a balcony where you can sit and watch boats bobbing on the waves - ideal for a morning coffee or a sundowner. At bedtime head down to the ground floor, where there are two bedrooms, a double (also with fabulous views over the harbour) and a compact twin, sharing a bathroom with a shower over the bath.

Set on a private, managed estate, the property is less than 500m from Porthmadog’s bustling high street, where there’s a wide variety of shops, pubs and places to eat. The harbour station of the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway is even closer - hop aboard for a trip aboard a historic steam train to either Blaenau Ffestiniog (with its underground trampolines, slate caverns and Zip World) or Caernarfon (where the majestic castle is a must-see). The sandy beaches of Borth-y-Gest and Blackrock Sands are approximately 1 mile away, while the Italianate village of Portmeirion is 2 miles.

  • 2 bedrooms - 1 double, 1 twin

The location was superb, on the harbour with an uninterrupted view out to sea, next to the Ffestiniog Railway and very handy for the town. Porthmadog is an excellent location for a car free holiday. It is on the main line railway and has good bus links in all directions including the excellent Sherpa bus to Snowdonia.

No 50 is a really lovely appartment to stay in. The location is perfect with everything you need. The balcony is a real suntrap where we enjoyed many coffees and glasses of wine! We would definately try to go back there.

The holiday property is very well situated on the harbour at Porthmadog with its own parking space. Perfect for exploring Snowdonia and the Llyn peninsula. The bedrooms and bathroom are downstairs, leaving a nice living area upstairs with a balcony overlooking the harbour and estuary. In a ideal location for visiting Porthmadog. This small property is suited for a couple with easy access to the beautiful local area and the adjacent Welsh Highland Steam railway.

Brilliant location & view from lounge window & balcony. Very convenient for walking into town & for the Welsh Highland Railway station. Upstairs lounge area very comfortable & kitchen well equipped. Enjoyed our stay. The area under the stairs was a bit messy/cluttered & spoiled the appearance of the ground floor, especially as there were also a loRead moret of cobwebs & several spiders in that area. One of the taps in the kitchen dripped constantly....we meant to leave a note but forgot. The double bedroom would benefit from a couple of nice pictures on the wall. WiFi often very slow which wouldn't have mattered if the the phone signal wasn't so poor meaning we couldn't use our mobile data. Hide

Super location, quiet area, great views over harbour & estuary from upstairs balcony, parking area's can get congested if guests don't park within guide lines, a few times guests at other houses parked so they took up more than one space.

The cottage was situated in an ideal spot with glorious views across the estuary. It was within easy walking distance of shops, cafes, and public transport which meant we didn't have to drive unless we chose to. It was important to us that the property is a dog-free zone due to allergies. The size of the property is ideal for two adults, though posRead moresibly a bit cramped for four people (unless two were small children). I would say that it is not suitable for someone with mobility issues due to the stairs. Hide

The excellent location for the steam railway and the lovely vista down the estuary were spoilt for us by the fact that the wi-fi stopped working after two days, the TV didn't work at all, under cupboard lighting in kitchen area didn't work, bathroom floor floods every time you take a shower as shower screen leaks and the whole place would benefit fRead morerom a thorough deep clean (e.g. peanuts and crisps from previous occupants visible under furniture). I would also hope that the system of extension leads in the bedrooms have been PAT tested. Hide
