Head down to the beach at Dunraven Bay, just over 0.5 miles away, or plan walks to nearby beauty spots, such as Merthyr Mawr Nature Reserve, 5.5 miles away. Return to the cottage to relax in the garden and watch the children and canine companions playing in the secure half-acre paddock.

Make your way straight into the lounge on autumn and winter days to fire up the wood burner and find your favourite programme on one of the smart TVs. A second lounge with a further smart TV and DVD player and sofa bed, provides an excellent additional space. Take turns preparing delicious holiday meals through in the kitchen/diner, with its large table to gather round, with the fresh produce you have bought. A utility space and storage for bikes and other outdoor gear can be found in the garage, together with a handy downstairs WC. Soak up the sunshine in the garden and cook lunch or supper out here on the disposable BBQ in the summer months. There is ample parking at the cottage.

Stroll 1 mile from the property to see Dunraven Castle and its walled gardens. Ogmore Castle, a Grade I-listed castle ruin, 2 miles away, is also worth seeing. The village of Ogmore-by-Sea, 1.5 miles away, is also known for its scenic beach, shops and eateries. Golfers will be happy with the plentiful courses in the area. We had a lovely stay in Glenhafren. I think the most well equipped cottage we have ever stayed in, and very clean. A lovely welcome package, and some fun Easter decor around the house made us feel very welcome. Really comfy beds and shutters on the windows make those lie-ins on a rainy day very cosy. Great walks and runs straight from the door, pluRead mores the pub, cafes and restaurant a couple of minute walk down the road were a real bonus. 3 Golden Cups, lovely atmosphere, great muscles and burgers. Frolics, a really special place, incredibly presented and delicious food, not expensive for what you get and amazing service. We even drove to Aberdare to do the Phoenix zipline, so easy to get to places or simply stay put and read a book. Hide

We had a fabulous stay at Glenhafryn. The cottage had everything we needed, is beautifully laid out and the walks nearby are just stunning. The local pub is only a few minutes walk and dog friendly and it isnt far to a couple of spectacular beaches. Highly recommend this as a place to stay.

Lovely cottage in a fantastic location. The property is spacious, well equipped, clean and very comfortable. Kitchen has all the equipment you could want for food prep and cooking. The outdoor area is great too, and if the weather isn't good, there are games to keep people amused. I would recommend this property to anyone.
