Property code: OC-BOW270

A stylish getaway for two, this good-looking, single-storey cottage is located near Caernarfon and has fabulous mountain and sea views all around. Walk or cycle from your door and return to the warmth of the wood burner in winter or BBQs on the patio in summer.

Beautifully decorated from top to toe, this romantic retreat has high, vaulted ceilings, exposed beams and a stylish use of vivid colour. The living area is open plan, with a high quality kitchen/diner at one end – featuring an array of handsome cupboards and a charming plate rack, and a lounge area at the other, where there’s a cuddly velvet sofa and a rocking chair, grouped around the wood burner and Smart TV. A great place to cwtch up and enjoy bingeing your favourite movies. The bedroom has zip and link beds for either king-size or twin configuration, ample storage and another Smart TV, while the fabulous wet room has a power shower, double basins and a gorgeous tiled floor. From the picnic table on the patio you can relish the uninterrupted scenery that surrounds you while grilling a tasty treat on the gas BBQ. There’s also access to a laundry room, and lockable storage for sports gear, as well as washing facilities for muddy bikes.

The cottage is set around 0.5 miles outside the village of Penygroes, which has shops, takeaways and a leisure centre. The area is criss-crossed with walks and cycle trails, and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Caernarfon is just 6.5 miles away, where you’ll find independent shops, a range of places to eat, an arts complex, marina and, of course, the world-famous castle. To ascend Mount Snowdon, head over to Llanberis, 13.5 miles, the station at the start of the mountain railway and starting point of the easiest footpath.
