Property code: OC-HH398

A delightful character cottage in the heart of pretty Oxwich village is a perfect base for a large family or group of friends planning a holiday in the beautiful Gower Peninsula. This spacious detached property sleeps six guests, along with two dogs, and is set in mature gardens with trees to the front and a large, enclosed patio at the rear. The golden beach and sand dunes of Oxwich Bay are within half a mile, and there are glorious scenic walks along the Wales Coast Path for people and pets to enjoy together.

The light-filled holiday home is thoughtfully furnished in soft neutral tones that create a tranquil mood. A comfortable corner sofa, wood burner and books create a cosy retreat in the living room. From here, a door leads into a conservatory with seating, while the sleek contemporary kitchen and stylish dining area has bifold doors leading to the rear garden. Upstairs are a family bathroom and three charming bedrooms: two super-kings, one with an en-suite, and a twin room. Outside, the rear garden patio with outdoor furniture is enclosed by planting.

Head to dog-friendly Oxwich Bay, a popular beach for swimming and a great range of water sports. There’s a beach cafe and an excellent range of restaurants here to enjoy. Explore Oxwich Castle – in reality a fortified Tudor manor house – and discover the ruins of The Salt House. Or take canine companions for walkies along the cliffs and through beautiful woodland to Oxwich Point. Follow the path up to the 88-metre-high summit of Cefn Bryn (3 miles), for wonderful views of the coastline and countryside. Look out for the Neolithic monument known as Arthur’s Stone on the way. See a historic working watermill and much more at the Gower Heritage Centre (4 miles).

We really enjoyed our time at Netherend. The place is beautiful, well presented, very clean and all the amenities needed for our stay. We really enjoyed the area, Oxwich is a beautiful part of Swansea and the locals are so friendly, including the pheasants who visited us in the garden whilst we were staying. We'd highly recommend and look into bookRead moreing again in the future. Thanks for having us Hide

This cottage was very good, the beds were comfortable & kitchen well equipped to cook for a family. Outside space was good with nice patio & plenty of parking. The welcome pack of tea/coffee/wine/snacks was a nice surprise. Bathrooms were clean & modern with hand wash & toilet rolls provided. Felt like home & home and a great location being a 10 miRead moren walk to Oxwich beach & well placed for exploring The Gower, would recommend Hide

This was an amazing house for our week away. Good sized bedrooms and a great kitchen. Walking distance to the beach, local shops and cafes. Would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking for a place in the Gower.

It was described as per friendly and enclosed garden and once from gate shut garden secure....most definitely not the case!! Needs a reword so people realise garden not secure. Other than that, gorgeous house, amazing location..photos on website need updating as bathroom looks old but in fact 2 very new bathrooms

Very pleased with the cottage overall and would definitely stay again. We found the sofas in the lounge a bit uncomfortable, very low and slouchy, not great for the back! Everything else was perfect, the kitchen was very nicely appointed. Some coat hooks in the utility room for wet coats would be really useful, it is Wales!!!
