Gaze at the stars through the huge, sloping glass roof of this gorgeous barn conversion or enjoy mountain views from its garden. Combining the best of modern architecture with lovely traditional features, it’s an ideal base for a couple or small family wishing to get active in the Snowdonia National Park.
The exciting design of this ground floor holiday home contrasts a modern, open-plan living space with cosy, beamed bedrooms. Step through the glazed side door (admiring the solar-panelled roof on your way) into the bright dining area and lounge, where comfortable seating is gathered around the Sky TV. Tucked to one side, the kitchen is designed for preparing meals with ease while feeling part of the group. Both bedrooms are warm and welcoming: the double has an en-suite shower room while the twin (which also has a pull-out, single bed) has an en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath. Laundry facilities are in an external cabin, and there’s a shared, lockable storage shed in which you can store sports gear. For an al fresco meal, enjoy the picnic table with a view in the shared, enclosed garden, where there’s also a charcoal BBQ.
This is the perfect location for outdoor activities, from hiking and climbing to adrenalin-fuelled adventures. In Coed y Brenin Forest, around 1.5 miles from your front door, you can take a peaceful woodland walk and discover waterfalls, enjoy a riverside picnic or cycle some brilliant mountain-biking trails. To climb Cadair Idris, the highest peak in Southern Snowdonia, it’s 11 miles to Ty Nant and the start of the Minffordd path, and for even more excitement head to the slate caverns of Zip World LLechwedd, 15 miles. For a quieter day out, explore the shops and places to eat in the historic town of Dolgellau, 9 miles.
