This tranquil and stylish getaway for couples or small families has wonderful mountain views from its large balcony. It’s located near Dolgellau within the Snowdonia National Park, and is within easy reach of outdoor activities and adrenaline adventures.
The rugged stone of this fabulous barn conversion contrasts with its sleek interior, where soaring ceilings, huge glazed doors and characterful beams combine to create a delightful home from home. The fitted kitchen has slate worktops and everything necessary for preparing relaxed meals and snacks, and leads into the light-filled, open-plan lounge/diner. Eat indoors at the farmhouse-style table or, in warmer months, push back the bi-folds to create an inside/outside space with the raised balcony immediately outside, dining alfresco while admiring the scenery. After supper it’s just a couple of steps to relax on the leather sofas in front of the Smart TV. The king bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, while the twin (which also boasts a pull-out single bed) features an en-suite shower room; both have ample storage and handsome timber furniture. Outside, the cottage shares a garden with neighbouring properties, offering a charcoal BBQ and further seating. There’s a shared, lockable shed for storing outdoor gear, and laundry facilities in a cabin. Also an EV charger available (£20 per charge, payable to the owner direct).
Explore hikes and cycle trails from your front door, or take a picnic and enjoy the waterfalls of Coed y Brenin Forest, just 1.5 miles away. The start of one of the most popular ascents of Cadair Idris, the highest peak in Southern Snowdonia, is 11 miles, and there’s cycling at Antur Stiniog, 14 miles, or underground adventure at Zip World LLechwedd’s slate caverns, 15 miles. In Dolgellau, 9 miles, take it easy with a wander around the market town’s shops and places to eat, or you could hop on a heritage train at Blaenau Ffestiniog, 13 miles.
