Overall, the property felt neglected, unloved and unwelcoming. Some surfaces, especially radiators were very dusty, dirty cobwebs, especially in the two king/double bedrooms. The shower over the bath in the en-suite to the double bedroom filled the bath with water before the water had time to run hot thus leading to a paddling pool when showering. Read moreThe shower curtain clung to you so not a pleasant experience. The bath was a spa bath but looked tired and dirty. The second shower in the en-suite to the twin bedded room worked satisfactorily but there was a considerable amount of black mould around the door. The basin in the third bathroom was dirty and had splashes of what looked like dried toothpaste suggesting it hadnt been cleaned before our arrival. The kitchen cupboards smelled of dampness and all crockery. cooking utensils and cutlery was washed before being used, not just because we would have potentially done that anyway but because they were dirty. There was water with mould on the surface sitting in the opening section of the left hand freezer. The dishwasher stopped working with demonstrating an error that suggested it had a water leak. We made efforts to telephone and e-mail the maintenance team but received no response. The fireplace in the lounge was unusable with a dirty tar like substance that had covered the walls, probably from the log burner before it was taken out of use. The information file was untidy and lacked information such as the waste collection details. The bin area was appalling with torn bags strewn all over the floor where previous guests had not potentially put them out for collection. I ended walking up the road to establish what bags needed to be left out for collection in the Friday morning as neighbours had obviously put theirs out. The information pack asked guests to take out previous guests waste in addition to their own. Had the rubbish been tidily disposed of and not open, overfilled and overflowing, I would have done but I refused to handle this waste. I believe the maintenance team need to address these issues. The garden was not accessible, the cobbled courtyard overgrown and dead leaves making it dangerous underfoot. Even the dogs were reluctant to walk over this area. The small, enclosed back garden was a grassed area but needed a mow. I could continue with more dissatisfaction but will leave it there. Apart from the location which was amazing, I am sorry to say that after years of renting holiday accommodation, this has been the worst property I have ever stayed in. This is the first time I have booked with this holiday letting company and will probably not look to book accommodation with them again. Hide

We did not enjoy our stay at this property. It smelt musty and wasnt very clean. The master bedroom had a bat in it so we couldnt use it or the en-suite. No TV in the lounge, just a small set in the small room next to it with one small sofa. Outside furniture was dirty and grass needed cutting. The cottage looked really nice in the pictures, but unfortunately it was a very dark place, apart from the kitchen and conservatory. There was no welcome pack with information about the area, or if you should recycle plastics etc, and if you should put bin bags anywhere on any day to be collected. The main bedroom with ensuite was extremely hard mRead moreattress and pillows uncomfortable. Lots of cobwebs in the room and throughout the property. Lots of taps, and the main bedrooms shower leaked, and not many toilet rolls in the toilets. Garden quite a mess, grass long not been cut, and no seating, only out in the front courtyard which is dark and not nice to sit out. Fantastic for going to the beach, which is a 2 minute walk, but the pub, is not what you'd expect, it's basically the hotel by the beach, and local shop hardly had any stock in. Expensive for the week. Also no good for tall people over 5ft 8 as low ceilings and son hit his head going up the stairs as very low. Hide
