A stone-built barn conversion set in the peaceful Cywarch Valley, within 16 miles of the historic market town of Machynlleth. Along with open-plan living areas, the barn features beautifully-appointed bedrooms across two floors, a reading nook and lawned garden with wonderful views of the surrounding landscape. All set up for large groups looking for a Snowdonia National Park basecamp.
Perched on the valley side between rocky mountains and the meandering Afon Cywarch, this astonishing barn, with its vaulted ceilings, exposed beams and contemporary furnishings, will stop your group in its tracks. The light open-plan kitchen/living area offers a place to create and eat good food, relax and just let the hours pass by unimpeded. Anyone coming back covered in the Welsh countryside should head straight to the utility room and then onto the nearby bathroom to reset. There is plenty of storage in the en-suite king-size bedroom and adjacent double bedroom on the ground floor for those who prefer not to travel light. A king-size bedroom awaits upstairs, along with a twin bedroom which comes with its own reading nook, a fantastic little hideaway for anyone craving some quiet time. The views of the surrounding area alone are an excuse to get outside, with plenty of room for children to play, either on the lawn or the apparatus close by, while older heads prepare an alfresco feast or chill in the hot tub.
Snowdonia National Park has stunning peaks and wooded trails for walkers to explore. Aran Fawddwy, the highest mountain in southern Snowdonia, lies 1.5 scenic miles from the cottage. Dinas Mawddwy (2 miles) is popular with mountain bikers. Machynlleth (16 miles) was the seat of Owain Glyndŵr’s Welsh Parliament in 1404, its historic streets home to a wealth of shops, pubs and cafes.
