This characterful holiday cottage is set within its own grounds and thanks to two gardens and two separate living areas, offers small groups with a comfortable base from which to explore Machynlleth (3 miles) and the nearby coastline.
This family-friendly cottage brings guests together and also gives them the freedom to enjoy quieter moments throughout the day, with stylishly decorated rooms filled with natural light and original features found across its two floors. Relax in the lounge while the youngsters head off to the sitting room for an afternoon of gaming, then get everyone together in the impressively large kitchen for a guilt-free dinner and to discuss the next day’s activities - including who’s in charge of sorting out the dirty clothes in the utility room. A twin bedroom and two king-size bedrooms, one with an en-suite, are found on the first floor, along with a family bathroom. The front garden features a lawn and a play area, while a secure garden is found at the rear. The views from either of these areas are reason enough to head outside at all times of the year.
The cottage is just 3 miles from Machynlleth, the seat of Owain Glyndŵr’s Welsh Parliament in 1404, and a plethora of shops, pubs and cafes that line the historic streets surrounding its Victorian clock tower. Cardigan Bay has long been a favourite destination for visitors and is dotted with colourful villages such as Aberdyfi (13.5 miles).
