This characterful holiday cottage is set within its own grounds and thanks to two gardens and two separate living areas, offers small groups with a comfortable base from which to explore Machynlleth (3 miles) and the nearby coastline.

This family-friendly cottage brings guests together and also gives them the freedom to enjoy quieter moments throughout the day, with stylishly decorated rooms filled with natural light and original features found across its two floors. Relax in the lounge while the youngsters head off to the sitting room for an afternoon of gaming, then get everyone together in the impressively large kitchen for a guilt-free dinner and to discuss the next day’s activities - including who’s in charge of sorting out the dirty clothes in the utility room. A twin bedroom and two king-size bedrooms, one with an en-suite, are found on the first floor, along with a family bathroom. The front garden features a lawn and a play area, while a secure garden is found at the rear. The views from either of these areas are reason enough to head outside at all times of the year.

The cottage is just 3 miles from Machynlleth, the seat of Owain Glyndŵr’s Welsh Parliament in 1404, and a plethora of shops, pubs and cafes that line the historic streets surrounding its Victorian clock tower. Cardigan Bay has long been a favourite destination for visitors and is dotted with colourful villages such as Aberdyfi (13.5 miles).

We had a great week in this extremely well equipped cottage. Plenty of space for our family of two adults and two teens. Very comfortable beds and cosy sitting room. Excellent utility area for coats and shoes/muddy boots, with washing machine and tumble dryer. The cottage had everything we needed and is in fact, the most well equipped we've stayed Read morein (bedding, towels, hand soap, kitchen towels, loo paper, washing up equipment, dishwasher tabs, laundry tabs, pegs, tin foil). A real home from home and the welcome pack was a lovely touch too. Would highly recommend. Hide

Lovely house in a great location, surrounded by sheep, right on the edge of the Mach loop. The town of Machynlleth is worth a visit on market day. Aberdyfi beach is beautiful with a really nice town.

The house is very well laid out, with every room being large enough. The rooms were very clean, as were the items in them. I think the photos on the website are taken with a special 'estate agents' camera, as the rooms are not a big as they look, but still big enough. Something that I feel should be mentioned but wasn't in the details. Is that thRead moreis is an attached property. Machynlleth is a lovely town, with lots of interesting independent shops, and cafs, and a good place to visit. Also worth a visit in the Ospreys Centre/nature reserve. Ospreys are migrants, so the time of year is important if you want to catch a sight of them. To sum up, we spent a peaceful, relaxing, and enjoyable week at Pwllglas Thank you to the hosts for the obvious effort made. Hide

The cottage was absolutely lovely. Perfect for what we required and the family thoroughly enjoyed their stay. The welcome pack was a kind gesture - especially the Welsh Cakes. I would highly recommend this cottage and look forward to coming back in the future.

Lovely cottage in a peaceful location. The cottage felt homely and place where you feel at home. The cottage was clean and well equipped. The first thing you see in the morning are the beautiful views from the bedroom window. Both gardens peaceful and relaxing. Welcome hamper was a lovely touch and very generous. Would definitely recommend.

A delightful cottage in an exquisite location. We stay close to Machynlleth every year for the comedy festival. All 5 of our party were very pleased with all aspects of the cottage. We would probably have booked for 2024 but it seems that the owners are now only taking 7 night bookings from Saturday to Friday which doesn't work for our visit.
