This traditional stone-built cottage, set in the calm and picturesque countryside within 10 miles of Aberearon, is a fantastic base for any group hoping to explore the beaches and thriving communities of Cardigan Bay. With open-plan kitchen and living areas, a hot tub and a large play area, it’s perfectly set up for young families eager to make memories in tranquil surroundings.
There’s plenty of space for the whole group in this impressive semi-detached cottage, its decor a mixture of exposed stone walls, contemporary soft furnishings, exposed beams and plenty of natural light. Spread yourselves thinly across the cosy open-plan kitchen and open-plan living areas, both of which are made for family games or nightcaps after the children have gone to bed. A king-size bedroom and a shower room stand close to these areas, while upstairs, a beautifully-appointed king-size bedroom and equally resplendent double bedroom, both with plenty of storage space, are served by the same bathroom. The outside space includes everything from a private seating area and a large play area complete with a chimenea and hammock for worn-out adults. One acre of landscaped grounds with ponds and woodland stands within 200 metres of the cottage, ideal for adults and older children.
The colourful Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron (10 miles) has plenty of fantastic eateries and independent shops to explore. You can pick up the Wales Coast Path from here, or enjoy the coastline from a different perspective on the way out to Bardsley Island by boat. Beaches at Llanrhystud, Llanon and New Quay are all within 10 miles. For history and wildlife, Llanerchaeron (3.5 miles) is a magnificent Georgian Villa with a walled garden.
