Escape to the tranquil village of Scurlage, nestled in the undulating landscape of the Gower Peninsula, when you head off on your romantic break to Wales. Sleeping two guests, this one-bedroom cottage is set in an ideal location for anyone wishing to explore the area and spend time on picturesque beaches. With a shared garden for summer days and a wood burner for chilly autumn and winter evenings, it makes the perfect bolthole for a couple all year round.
Open the door to the stone hideaway and wander into the inviting, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with its flagstone floor and bright ambience. Prepare delicious dinners for two in the well-equipped kitchen area then settle down to eat at the table together either inside or out, depending on the weather. Fire up the wood burner, then find your favourite programme on TV and snuggle up on the sofa together. When eyelids begin to droop, make your way up to the first floor to enjoy a superb night’s sleep in the comfortable double bedroom, which has an en-suite bathroom. Have a lazy morning in bed before heading off on your next adventure. Return from each excursion to sit out in the shared sunny garden with a cup of tea. There is also a shared outdoor laundry room at the property and parking for one car with this cottage.
Pack a beach bag and stroll just over 1.5 miles down to the beach at Port Eynon. The other many picturesque beaches of the Gower include Rhossili and Oxwich Bay, both 4 miles away. Find numerous walks across your surroundings or pick up the Gower Coast Path and walk over the cliffs. Head into charming Mumbles, 12 miles away, to potter in the shops, dine out in cafes and restaurants and walk out along the pier.
