Treat your loved one to a special stay in this enticing stone cottage in Scurlage on the magnificent Gower Peninsula in South Wales. Sleeping just two guests, the one-bedroom hideaway makes an idyllic, romantic retreat, especially for a couple wishing to bring along a four-legged friend. Nestled in splendid walking country and close to beaches and the coast path, it is the perfect place from which to explore this picturesque corner of the country.

Wander inside to find a lovely, light-filled, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with a wall of windows and plenty of space to relax together. Make the most of this space after your long walks and days spent exploring. Relax in front of a good film on TV or whip up tasty dinners to enjoy together at the table on the evenings you choose to dine in. Climb the stairs at the end of each day to enjoy a good night’s sleep in the double bedroom, with its vaulted ceiling. There is an en-suite shower room up here too and the bedroom has a TV so you can indulge in slow mornings in front of your favourite programmes. Take your first cup of tea of the day out to the patio. There is also a garden here that is shared with other cottages. The cottage comes with parking for one car.

Spend summer days down on the golden sand at either Oxwich Bay or Rhossili, both 4 miles from the cottage. Port Eynon, 1.5 miles away, also has a beach. Pigsty Cottage is a fantastic location to explore the Gower We loved the cottage and it was great to be able to park right outside - other places we have stayed even in rural locations haven't been able to offer this The downstairs in spacious and airey with good quality clean furniture - a good size TV (World Cup and Wimbledon were on !) wRead moreith streaming facilities - we had lovely sunny weather but this might be important if you had a rainy week Good size kitchen and equipment - bedroom was very comfortable with USB points next to beds - ideal size toilet and shower room - lots of storage space for clothes Lovely little courtyard with a table and chairs - although it's not gated so if you have a dog be careful - however there is a lovely shared garden space which is gated The owners were on hand in a neigbouring property and were very helpful Highly recommended - thank you for the stay Hide

Scurlage is an excellent base to explore the Gower, as it is centrally located as well as having a reasonably sized shop. It is also close to Port Enyon, which has Pub, a Restaurant, a small cafe and a couple of Fish and Chip shops, as well as a lovely beach.

The owners have done a great job of making use of the space available. However the space is tight upstairs for tall adults. The place was spotless and we'll equipped. We used the PYO Strawberry place over the road every day. The local beaches are sensational and parking charges significantly cheaper than Cornwall and Devon. Recommend doing food shoRead morepping before you set up as no supermarket nearby. Local store OK for every day essentials. Hide

The pigsty was great, very neat, tidy, clean and quite swish with all we needed to enjoy our stay. If back on the Gower peninsular would like to stay there again.
