Property code: OC-YMORDY

Set in a peaceful cul de sac, this charming bungalow is within half a mile of Abersoch’s beach and other attractions, and enjoys spectacular views over the surrounding countryside and out to sea. With flexible sleeping arrangements in three bedrooms, it’s ideal for a family getaway in the Llyn Peninsula.

From the welcoming lounge/diner of this detached holiday home there are rural views to one side and sea views to the other, and this bright and airy space, which has a Smart TV, leads directly into the conservatory where you can gaze at the garden from the sofa and chairs. The kitchen is another lovely space with views to the garden, equipped with everything you’ll need to create delicious family meals. The property has three bedrooms - one sleeping three with a double and a single bed; one with a choice of twin beds or a super-king-size, and one with children’s bunk beds and an optional, pull-out trundle bed. You’ll share a family bathroom and, handily, there’s also a separate WC. For a morning coffee or dining al fresco, head to the garden where you can grill something delicious on the charcoal BBQ. If you plan to bring outdoor equipment, you’ll be able to store it safely in the large garage.

In the popular resort of Abersoch there are all kinds of attractions, from shops, restaurants and bars to the fabulous main beach. Here you can sunbathe and build sandcastles, try some water sports or take a boat trip to the St Tudwal’s Islands, looking out for dolphins along the way. There’s an 18-hole golf course and a local riding centre, too. If you fancy a change, head to the National Trust’s house and garden of Plas yn Rhiw, 6.5 miles, or the market town of Pwllheli, 7 miles.

Cottage as described, pretty basic and in need of an upgrade but clean. There is no welcome pack so if you intend to cook bring everything with you, we had some washing up liquid, toilet rolls, kitchen roll and 1 small bin bag and that was it. Only 5 mugs yet it can house 7 and 4 glasses the rest were plastic assume to cater for children? ! LocatiRead moreon is ok especially if you want to eat in town a 5-10 min stroll but up a slight hill, no footpath in some bits and poor lighting - better, but longer, to walk via the Spar. Maybe bring some extension cables to charge phones / use the hairdryer. Good info on where to eat but even at the beginning of Sept we needed to book. We ate in the Dining Room - excellent, The Potted Lobster - v good, The Cove - also v good, Deli Thai and Zinc both good. Portmerion brasserie is also v good and free entry to the village if you have lunch in the brasserie. Marina La Cucina in Porthmadog was also good. All beaches were lovely - clean and had toilets / cafes etc which were good value. Though most have National Trust car parks which charge non members 5 a day even if only staying for a few hours others mainly take coins or to download apps which can be difficult signal wise but theres no common app so maybe read up and download before you go. Great location with lots of parking. 10 minute walk to the shops and 15 minutes to the beach. Comfortable cottage if a little tired.
