Enter the farmhouse and find yourself in the warm and welcoming lounge with a wooden beamed ceiling and an exposed stone wall with a wood burner-effect eclectic fire. Earthy tones fill the space with wooden furnishings, two leather sofas and an armchair. Inside the second lounge, surrounding the wood burner in an exposed stone inglenook fireplace are red and green furnishings including sofas and armchairs. Continue into the airy, neutral-toned lounge to find a long wooden dining table on one side of the room beneath a wooden beamed ceiling. On the opposite side of this space is a fitted ‘L’-shaped kitchen unit with granite countertops, a kitchen peninsula and a Rayburn cooker. Climb the stairs to reach a family bathroom, a shower room and four bedrooms — two king-size rooms, a twin room and a king-size zip-and-link room. There is also a games room with a three-in-one table offering pool, table tennis and air hockey. Outside is a cottage garden with a lawn and furniture on the patio. There is private parking for four cars.
While staying in the sleepy countryside village of Newchurch you could start your time away with a stroll along Offa’s Dyke Path (less than 0.5 miles). Spend a day in The Begwyns national park (6 miles) or venture into the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park/Brecon Beacons (13.5 miles). Also nearby is the market town of Hay-on-Wye (7 miles), where you can browse over 20 bookshops.
