This picture-postcard cottage is in the quaint village of Stackpole, within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Sleeping eight guests, the spacious property is perfect for large families and groups of friends. This stretch of coastline is known for its rugged beaches and dramatic scenery, and you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to jaw-dropping walking routes. From the cottage, it’s easy to visit the historic town of Pembroke (4 miles) and the colourful seaside resort of Tenby (13.5 miles).

The cottage is full of rustic charm, with original features and traditional furniture. Enter into the country-style kitchen/diner, which has a characterful beamed ceiling and flagstone floor, as well as a dining table and everything needed for a self-catering break. From here, move into the lounge which, again, is bursting with character, thanks to its exposed beams and inglenook fireplace (housing a cosy gas fire). Unwind here on the plump sofas, reading a book or watching the SkyTV. The property has two ground-floor bedrooms – a double and a twin – and a handy utility/shower room. The two remaining bedrooms – a king-size with an en-suite bathroom and a double bedroom – are upstairs, along with the family bathroom. The idyllic garden is part walled, providing peace and privacy. Relax here, sharing family BBQs on the patio whilst the children play on the lawn.

The National Trust’s Stackpole Estate is a paradise for walkers, with tracks and trails taking you through woodlands, around lily ponds, and along dramatic clifftops. The area is teeming with outdoor activities – head down to Stackpole Quay to try your hand at coasteering, kayaking, or surfing. The beautiful Barafundle Bay (2 miles) is a must for the itinerary. With its golden sands, turquoise waters, and lush pine trees, the remote bay is often likened to the beaches of the Caribbean.
