The perfect choice for a couple’s escape, this cottage is set among 5 acres of gardens. With a glass-fronted porch and private patio offering far-reaching views across the river valley, a holiday here will allow you to reconnect with one another and with nature.

One of two traditionally furnished cottages in a rural Carmarthenshire setting, this semi-detached property promises all the comfort of home plus stunning views of Llansteffan and the River Towy estuary. With accommodation all on one level, guests are welcomed in through a glass-fronted porch that’s a perfect spot for wildlife-watching without having to set foot outdoors. Step further inside and you’ll find a south-facing open-plan kitchen/living/dining space which has all the essentials for a fuss-free stay, and a door to the garden and patio area. Cook up a feast, choose a movie or listen to your favourite music – however you spend your time here, you can enjoy doing things together. When it’s time to retire, a peaceful double bedroom with an en-suite shower room beckons – all-year comfort comes courtesy of a ground source heat pump and solar power energy and, for added convenience, a shared utility room houses laundry facilities and a freezer. The cottage is reached by a long private driveway and you’ll be able to fully appreciate the peaceful location as you sit on your patio or explore the nature-rich grounds, which include two ponds.

This delightful holiday hideaway is located 1.5 miles south of Llangain and has friendly owners who are happy to share their local knowledge and sightseeing suggestions. Around 3 miles away, Llansteffan has a long tradition for shipping and as a holiday resort – its castle is spectacularly sited on a craggy promontory at the mouth of the river. Walks in this area combine fabulous coastal scenery with lovely country lanes often skirted by flower-rich hedgerows. Visit Carmarthen (5 miles) for a fine selection of shops, pubs, galleries and eateries and the site of what was once the most westerly amphitheatre in the Roman Empire.

Comfortable accommodation and quiet location. Do not attempt if you have a low undercarriage on your vehicle as the long driveway is very uneven in places. The owners Sharon and Jim are very knowledgeable of the area and very helpful, lending books and leaflets about intended visits. Plenty of various birds to see. Near to beautiful sandy beach andRead more countryside as well as gardens. Owners dogs on site are very well behaved. Hide

Beautiful setting down a long unmade track. Cottage well appointed and comfy. Hosts Sharon and Jim were very friendly and helpful. Jim's local knowledge and suppy of books and maps, local knowledge of small free carparks off the beaten track really helped make the most of our 1st visit to West Wales
