A gorgeous two-bed home with a stylish rustic interior, this dog-friendly cottage is wonderful for a Welsh countryside holiday with friends or family. It’s in a picturesque rural setting 1.5 miles from the village of Cross Inn, where you’ll find a friendly pub where you can sip a quiet beer. Nearby, you can go sea swimming in the coastal village of Aberarth (6 miles) and join the coastal path for scenic walks through stunning scenery.

The cottage has a striking facade made of exposed stonework which continues on the inside, where many of the walls are made from stone, too. A stylish wooden theme runs though the place, with exposed ceiling beams, gorgeous wooden floors and a central staircase made from the natural material. The cosy, open-plan living area features rustic furnishings and a welcoming fireplace – ideal for snug evenings indoors – plus a modern kitchen for preparing dinners. French doors lead out to a spacious enclosed garden complete with a good-sized lawn and patio area, creating the perfect space for children and pets to roam.

When it’s time to explore further afield, Aberaeron (7.5 miles) is a fantastic location for a day trip, with its historic allure and lovely coastal atmosphere. Join the Allt y Graig Woodland Trail (0.5 miles) for dog walks along an old railway track. History enthusiasts may enjoy a visit to the mediaeval Strata Florida Abbey (16.5 miles), or you can drive to The National Trust site at Llanerchaeron Estate (6.5 miles) to visit an elegant Georgian villa designed by the architect, John Nash.

Off the beaten track peaceful refurbished granary. Very clean with decent furniture. Bath is under the eaves in the upper space which wouldnt suit someone with mobility problems. Steep stairs to bedroom space.

The Granary is a wonderful oasis of peace and tranquility, whilst having easy access to both coast and mountains. The owner is a lovely, friendly host, available if we needed anything, but otherwise unobtrusive.
