Set on the outskirts of the picturesque Clwydian Range and Dee Valley National Landscape in Ruthin, experience the very best of rural living from this characterful and sophisticated family-friendly getaway, perfect for anyone craving an escape to the countryside.

Brimming with period charm, the lounge/diner represents what you''d expect from a cosy Welsh cottage, from a roaring wood burner to Georgian sash windows. In keeping with the cottage’s rich heritage, with original quarry tiles and solid oak beams, the rustic kitchen/diner will transport you to times past, inspiring you to get creative. Upstairs, soak weary muscles in the roll-top bath in the sophisticated family bathroom, admiring incredible views over the rooftops of Ruthin with Moel Famau in the distance. There are also three bedrooms on offer upstairs, one super-king-size zip-and-link (can be made up as a twin) with a sofa bed for an additional guest and en-suite wet room, one super-king-size and one king-size; charming period touches set the scene for pure relaxation. Outside, dine alfresco on the patio, admiring the peaks of the Clwydian Range, whilst children let off some steam on the large, shared lawn and climbing frame.

Nestled in the Vale of Clwyd, the historic market town of Ruthin boasts a fabulous array of boutique shops and local cafes, surrounded by an abundance of opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts, from hill walking along the iconic Offa’s Dyke to local footpaths carving through sun-dappled woodlands. Jump on your bike and onto the Sea Front Trail, taking you out of Ruthin into Rhyl (19 miles) and following the coastal route to Prestatyn (21.5 miles) and Rhuddlan (16 miles) before circling back around into Rhyl. Try a spot of coarse fishing at Bathafarm Hall, 1.5 miles away, located in a peaceful setting with views towards the Clwydian Hills. Spent almost two weeks here, 4 adults and 2 children. Fantastic location, beautiful property (both house and garden), great host (and her very friendly dog). Hands down best holiday let we've stayed at in the UK. Can heartily recommend!

We had an absolutely wonderful time. Clare the owner went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as perfect as it could be for my husbands birthday. It has a beautiful garden and the welcome basket was a lovely touch. We look forward to returning again .

My friends and I booked Ardwyn Bach to stay in for Christmas and had the most magical wonderful time. First of all, the property is not only spotless and absolutely beautiful, but the host, Clare, has thought of everything, it truly was a home away from home. We brought some crockery to cook our Christmas dinner but we didn't need it, the kitchen wRead moreas so well stocked, and the rest of the house also followed suit. The location was also brilliant, it's a lovely village with pubs and shops within a few minutes walk away, and a beautiful park too for dog walks, but it's not crowded or bustling, so it feels like a lovely hidden gem. You get the benefit of being well connected to amenities but still lots of peace and quiet. The whole house was really cosy, but the sofa in the living room was maybe the most comfy seat I've ever been on, and the 6 of us would regularly rush to get a spot on the sofa! Last but not least, the host Clare was amazing. Super helpful and friendly, was available quickly on text if we needed help, and is clearly very thoughtful and considerate considering the thought that has gone into the cottage. I would 100% recommend staying here, and we cannot wait to come back. Hide

Thank you for a wonderful stay. It really is home from home, not only for us but for our dog too! The kitchen is better equipped than my kitchen at home, so many things provided including all soap, etc, and dog towels! What a beautiful little town, we walked to the butchers daily to get provisions for our breakfast and also made for too many tripRead mores to the bakery. Plenty of places to eat and the town has 3 electric car chargers, one a few minutes walk away, we had 2 large cars so the parking permit was useful for the local car park. Thank you for thinking of everything a family (and dog) would need for an easy holiday, we would love to return. Hide

In September, we had the pleasure of renting a charming house in Wales, basking in a glorious week of sunshine! The house boasts a delightful and quirky ambiance, characterized by its many small rooms, winding corridors, and quaint staircases. Each of the three bedrooms is equipped with its own shower and toilet, with two also featuring a luxuriousRead more bath. The beds were very comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. While the kitchen is a bit on the snug side, it is impressively well-equipped with everything needed for a delightful stay. The sitting room, with its expansive window, offers a direct view of the street, where we occasionally spotted curious passersby peeking in. Parking is located on a different street, and although it was initially a bit tricky to locate, we quickly found it to be quite convenient. Hide

A Wonderful cottage thats very well equipped, and in a terrific location. We rattled around a bit as we were only two people but I would think if you were a family it would be fantastic. Parking was easy and private. The owner was available if needed but kept herself to herself. Wetherspoons very handy for cheap and cheerful breakfast.
