Camping gets an upgrade with a stay in this fabulous shepherd’s hut in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Offering space for two guests seeking romance, this cottage is a true bolthole with space to curl up and get cosy indoors or spend an evening by the fire pit under the dark night skies outside. Unlike many shepherd''s huts, this property is set out across two spaces with the main hut housing a double bed and a separate outbuilding offering a kitchen and bathroom facilities on the opposite side of the flowery meadow. This allows you to spread out, using the garden space that sits between the two buildings as an extended living space when the weather is bright and sunny.
Move into the meadow and take in the spaciousness, the outdoor dining set and the fire pit that’s yours to use. On the right, you’ll notice the outbuilding with a spacious kitchenette, a dining table and a fully fitted bathroom. Head across the meadow to reach the hut itself, taking a few steps up and soaking in the traditional design of the space. The room features a double bed, a seating area set opposite a wood burner and tea-making facilities for that all-important brew first thing in the morning or last thing at night.
Offering walks from every direction, this shepherd’s hut is in the fabulous riverside destination of Talybont-on-Usk, right at the heart of South Wales’ National Park. The Taylbont Reservoir is just 2 miles away, an easy route to follow with beautiful nature to spot along the way. The River Usk is also close by (1.5 miles), with a pretty waterfront route taking you right up to the scenic Brynich Aqueduct (4 miles) and onwards to the lively town of Brecon (6.5 miles).
