You cant help but be bewitched by Drws Y Coed, by both the river and the cottage, theyre both amazing. The location of the cottage, perched over the River is incredible and set just a few minutes drive from Snowden in one direction or Betws-y-Coed in the other, what more could you ask for? Just Fabulous. And not to be trumped by the great locatiRead moreon, the Cottage itself is Beautiful. Warm and cozy (we came in January 25), its spotlessly clean and equipped with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing and wonderful stay. Its elegantly decorated throughout (the photos dont do it justice), and it has real a contemporary homely feel to it. We will return next winter. Hide

This old riverside cottage has been renovated to such a high standard, a wonderful combination of luxury and good taste, without any compromise on comfort and cosiness. Incredibly well-equipped for self-catering too, and with plenty of storage space, good hot showers and quality linen. The location, however, is the biggest plus of all - right oRead moren the bank of the river with a beautiful rocky cascade just outside, visible from all of the huge windows. The large veranda overhangs the river for a beautiful place to just sit and gaze. We stayed for a week in November and were treated to a good snowfall on the first night, which turned the view into a winter wonderland the next day. Even at sub-zero temperatures the cottage was warm inside, and there were plenty of throws to wrap up in for extra cosiness. There's a short woodland walk to a cafe, right from the front door across the footbridge, and plenty of other long walks direct from site. It's also only a short drive from the whole of Snowdonia and endless opportunities for walks and activities and incredible scenery, and just half an hour from the coast too. Despite feeling isolated, there is a reasonable pub within five minutes walk. The walls of the cottage are almost a metre thick and the double glazing is well sealed, so any noise of the waterfall or the road are considerably damped down - I am a light sleeper but easily slept through. On our last day, Storm Bert arrived - the combination of torrential rain and snow-melt from the mountains caused the river to rise by several metres and become a gushing torrent of white water - truly spectacular, we spent the day just watching a photographing it in awe. Despite the riverside location of the property we were safe and dry the whole time, affording us a close-up display of nature's forces and a real holiday experience to remember! Hide

What a beautiful cottage. Outside space was breathtaking even on a rainy weekend, also under cover in some parts. Whole place was spotless, and finished to a high standard.

We loved the house. It was spotlessly clean, had everything you could possibly need and beautifully presented. The deck is somewhere you could loose yourself for a few hours just listening and watching the water. We will return

The location of this property is stunning. The view of the river from the deck is wonderful. It is situated on a fairly main road but noise wasn't really an issue once inside. The beds were comfortable with lovely soft throws and the whole place was spotless. Our family also loved the collection of games and puzzles provided. The welcome pack was much appreciated.
