This charming property, situated in the village of Trawsfynydd, is the perfect place for a romantic getaway for two. With a cosy double bed, this holiday home is ideal for getting away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. And with no Wi-Fi at the property, you can truly switch off and enjoy exploring the wonderful countryside on your doorstep and beyond. Head to the village lake (0.5 miles) for a stroll or a spot of fishing, or venture further afield to Coed y Brenin Forest Park (6 miles) where you can hire mountain bikes and head off down the trails.

The cottage, which sits in a row of stone-built terraces, welcomes you into a characterful lounge. Exposed wooden beams paired with a stone fireplace and wood burner invite you to snuggle up on the sofa in the evening, while the garden furniture on the patio is a great spot for an al fresco tipple on sunny days. A dining table in the lounge area provides a cosy spot for meals, and a TV ensures you can enjoy some entertainment. Close to the lounge, you’ll find the kitchen area, making it convenient to prepare meals. At bedtime, climb the cottage-style stairs to the tranquil bedroom; pastel tones and a comfortable bed make it easy to fall asleep so you can wake up refreshed and ready to take on a day of hiking in Snowdonia National Park. A fully tiled shower room is close by.

Get your walking boots on and take the 5.5-mile circular walk to the summit of Arenig Fawr which starts in Arenig (9 miles) and offers fantastic views. If you’re looking for something more leisurely, a walk from the Haybarn in Ffestiniog (6.5 miles) takes you just over 2 miles through woodland and along the Afon Teigl before heading back, and you can even stop at the local pub for a refreshment. The Ffestiniog Railway (8.5 miles) is ideal for a relaxing day out, while Zip World Slate Caverns (11 miles) is perfect for adrenaline seekers.

This is a lovely little cottage, the kitchen had all the equipment we needed, and we were nice and warm throughout our stay. It's well placed in the village close to the shop and pub. We found it a great location for visiting Snowdonia and the surrounding area.

We dont usually visit this part of Wales, but once used to our location, became aware of places of local interest. You may need to be ready to drive as this can be a prerequisite. However the Cottage is extremely homely and comfortable and the Owners went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. The wood burner in the front room was a welcomeRead more sight after some invetitably rainy days ! Would easily return for another totally relaxing time. Hide
