This serene, five-star retreat located on an organic farm is your perfect opportunity for a restorative break away from it all. The one-bed home is surrounded by biodiversity and wildlife and perched atop a tranquil hilltop with really gorgeous views over the Montgomeryshire and Shropshire countryside. Outdoor adventures begin right at your doorstep, with easy access to the nearby Offa’s Dyke Path (around 4 miles), an ancient trail which roughly follows the England-Wales border, and scenic cycling trails.

Beautifully restored with deep respect for its original features, this cosy home has lovely wooden beams throughout, and high-quality touches like a handcrafted walnut staircase and stone work surfaces in the kitchen. In the main living area, the focal point is a large inglenook fireplace with a cosy wood burner stove – perfect for curling up with a book or unwinding after a day in the hills. In the living room is a comfortable cuddle chair sofa bed that would suit one person. Enjoy meals at the wooden dining table while admiring the stunning views through large windows. The kitchen and shower room have been updated with classic touches. Upstairs, the super-king-size bedroom has characterful uneven floors and a striking brick chimney breast, plus sweeping countryside views from every window. Outside, unwind and connect with nature as you relax on the front patio surrounded by fragrant wisteria and wild lavender. Sun loungers create a peaceful spot to enjoy your morning coffee, and there’s a large orchard to explore.

You’ll have a local pub and shop within 3 miles for convenience. You’ll find plenty to do nearby, such as exploring National Trust estates like Powis Castle and Gardens (8.5 miles) or venturing to the quaint market towns of Oswestry and Welshpool (9.5 and 7.5 miles respectively).

Beautiful cottage in an idyllic setting. The cottage was well equipped and comfortable. The surrounding gardens and land have obviously been well loved and cared for creating a wonderful haven. The view from the bedroom window is amazing, we didn't pull the curtains once and enjoyed seeing the sunsets and early morning mists.

What a wonderful cottage. A stunning location, just below the hilltop the farmhouse and attached cottage have superb countryside views. The website cottage description is entirely accurate. Comfy superking bed. We relaxed the moment we turned onto the drive. Beautiful preparation of the cottage with antique furniture, interesting garden space with Read moreseating in three linked areas surrounding the cottage allowing you to follow the sun, or seek shade. Cannot recommend this place highly enough, we will definitely return. Lovely nearby farm shop at Derwen Garden Centre for cheese, meat, fruit and veg. Owner, Rod, lives onsite and is a valuable source of info about the organic farm and it's wildlife, he understands that some people like to be left alone and some may want more info. If you love comfort, beautiful countryside, birdsong, wildflowers, butterflies and are looking to relax, this place is for you. Hide
