The property is beautifully done and it is a very isolated spot. The bed is huge and quite comfortable, the property is clean and furnished nicely. Unfortunately the woodland around has recently been felled leaving not much of a forest at all and it's a bit of an eyesore in my view. I would not recommend getting there in a car with low clearanceRead more as the off road tracks are very uneven. Take your own wood if you want a log fire inside or to have the fire pit going as this is not included after a small basket provided is gone, also it's pine so you burn through it within 3-4hrs. One morning found a ram (sheep) trying to head butt his image in the glass door, fortunately his horn was catching in the wooden shutter, other wise he may have put his head through the glass.

Lovely remote cottage in a fairly peaceful location (by Mach Loop) so lots of fighter jets flying low (personally enjoyed that). Clean and comfortable and very dog friendly. As its down a very long unmade up track it wouldn't be ideal for any sporty low to the ground cars so worth bearing in mind. There are a couple gates that have to be open and Read moreclosed on the way in and out and it did become an irritation after a while but completely necessary to protect the sheep wandering around the cottage. Beautiful location very isolated vefy quiet you dont see anyone if you like that as we do then your in for a treat, loads of wildlife the odd deer crossing the long road to cottage , I found the road OK a bit bumpy in places but its fine no problem just take it slow it's all part of the experience, the cottage is well equipped everything you need fRead moreor your stay ,the bed is huge and comfortable good nights sleep it's pitch black at night we took a couple of head touches if you need to get up at night just saves turning on the generator but the switch is next to the bed if needed. I found the generator quiet enough it runs without any problems the whole cottage runs off it from pumping water , toilet flushing cooker lights tv so don't be scared to run it , also lots of fighter jets passing over it's a pleasure to see them and they are loud and low all in all a fantastic stay lots to do if you get out and about. Wonderfully remote property down a long bumpy track. Perfect for getting away from it all. Don't bring too much fridge fooda as the fridge goes off when you switch off the generator. Walk straight from the door for miles without seeing a soul, watch the occasional fighter plane fly up from the Mach Loop. Listen to the birds and generally relax.

A beautiful location to get away from it all. We even saw 3 deer a minute from the house. Unfortunately, the smell and noise from the generator marred the experience of sitting outside to enjoy the view. Don't rely on sat nav as this took us to a path which would have been trecherous to use.

First time off-grid and the cabin offered everything needed to relax after a day exploring. Equipment in the kitchen perfect for preparing an evening meal, and smart TV allowed us to unwind with a box-set. Be prepared for the drive to cabin, forest track uneven. Plenty of wildlife to enjoy. A magical woodland retreat that was everything we hoped it would be. Highly recommended as a get away, or as a base for local exploring.
