Situated on the outskirts of the pretty village of Llangain, this lovely lodge is ideal for families looking for a peaceful setting surrounded by plenty of walks, hikes, and opportunities for keen outdoor explorers. Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life at this wonderfully scenic spot in Carmarthenshire where you can take the coastal path to nearby Llansteffan Beach (3 miles) and roam the sandy shoreline. Alternatively, head to nearby Scott’s Bay (3.5 miles) to spot a rich variety of birdlife, flora and fauna.

At the heart of this beautiful home-from-home is an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner where you can relax together at the end of each day of adventure. The decor combines soothing, neutral hues that hint at the colours of nearby seascapes and surrounding mountains. Relax on the comfortable sofa reading, chatting or simply taking in the views through the large patio doors, which flood the area with natural light. There is a Smart TV if you feel like a movie night. Whip up a tasty treat in a kitchen with all the appliances you need. The lodge boasts a contemporary family shower room and two bedrooms – a king-size and a twin. Make the most of the countryside air and views by dining alfresco or sipping your morning cuppa on the enclosed terrace. There is space for the children to let off steam on the shared lawn and play area. A games room is a handy wet-weather alternative for some indoor family fun. The property has private parking for one car.

History buffs can transport themselves back to medieval times with a visit to nearby Laugharne Castle (13 miles) and explore Dylan Thomas’s poet hideout. Overlooking the River Twyi are the ruins of Carmarthen Castle (6.5 miles). Carmarthen is a market town with plenty of independent shops to browse and plenty of eateries to savour the local produce. You can bring your buckets and spades because there are plenty of beautiful sandy beaches to enjoy, including Ragwen Point and Pembrey, both under 20 miles.
