Get away from it all in this spacious cottage on the stunning west coast of Eryri National Park (Snowdonia). The property welcomes four guests and is perfect for couples and small families who adore getting out and about in nature. The coastal town of Tywyn is 2.5 miles away, and boasts a long promenade, sandy beach, and an excellent array of independent shops and eateries. Tywyn is steeped in history and legend, and you can explore a number of historic sites within the town, such as the 9th-century St Cadfan’s Stone. Other nearby coastal towns include Fairbourne (6.5 miles) to the north and Aberdyfi (9 miles) to the south, both of which can be reached via the Wales Coast Path. Heading inland, to the heart of the national park, you’ll find endless beauty spots and idyllic walking routes, highlights of which include Dolgoch Falls, Llyn Mwyngil, and the mighty Cadair Idris (all within 10 miles). There are some excellent family attractions to enjoy nearby, such as King Arthur’s Labyrinth, Castel y Bere, and Talyllyn Railway (all within 15 miles).
Step inside the cottage, which sits within the owner’s grounds, and into the light and airy kitchen/diner, featuring beautiful wooden floors, a double-height ceiling, and views across the garden. Prepare delicious dishes for the group using fresh, local ingredients, and gather for family mealtimes around the wooden dining table. From here, stairs lead to the first-floor lounge, which is set under a sloping roof with skylights. Relax in this room at the end of a busy day, reading a book on one of the comfortable sofas or catching up on your favourite programmes on the Smart TV. Doors from the lounge open out onto a decked balcony with far-reaching views. Back downstairs, two tastefully decorated bedrooms await. Choose from a king-size (reached via a few steps) with an en-suite shower room or a delightful twin at the opposite end of the retreat. Completing the ground floor is a contemporary shower room.
Outside, enjoy unspoilt views across open fields to Eryri’s dramatic mountains. As well as the decked balcony off the lounge, you’ll also have an enclosed garden with a patio, lawn, BBQ, and furniture for al fresco dining. Storage is available for bikes, paddleboards, and outdoor equipment, and the property has private parking for two cars.
