This cosy couple’s cottage in Abergavenny is an excellent choice for a dog-friendly getaway with nearby amenities and the wild Welsh landscapes on your doorstep. Spend your time away exploring the nearby castles, mountain trails and forests of the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons). In the evenings, you can dine alfresco in the garden, take a bath or snuggle up on the sofa in an open-plan living space in this contemporary property.

Enter the cottage and step into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with natural light pouring through the French doors leading to the patio. Relax on the sofa bed sitting opposite the Smart TV in the contemporary lounge area. At the back of the room is a farmhouse-style L-shaped kitchen with elegant, stylish cabinets. Completing the interior is a boutique-style king-size bedroom and a minimalist, marble-effect bathroom with a shower over the bath. Outside, you’ll find an enclosed patio with furniture and shrubbery. There is also private parking for one car.

While staying in the heart of Abergavenny town you can pop to the local shops and pubs or visit the museum in a former hunting lodge on the grounds of a ruined Norman fortress (all within 1 mile). Just 3.5 miles away is Sugar Loaf – after an uphill slog, you’ll reach impressive views of the surrounding landscapes. Visit the curious historical landmark, Clydach Gorge (6 miles) and disappear into the depths of Ogof Craig a Ffynnon cave (7 miles). Head into the Black Mountains for a hike up to the summit of Waun Fach (13 miles).

The cottage met all our expectations. It was well maintained and presented. Benefited with free parking. Secluded sitting out area. Easy walking distance to Abergavenny.

Presumably, a converted double garage and an annexe to the B and B? Not much space in bedroom or kitchenette which had a mishmash of crockery and no spare glasses. A 4 6 bed and little space in bedroom, not king sized as in descriptor. If bed settee was opened to a bed, it would be very cramped.
