Located within the forested surroundings of Llyn Crafnant, this charming and dog-friendly lakeside cottage enjoys marvellous views and walks from the door. Cosy and characterful, it is a lovely base from which couples and families can explore the coast and countryside of Snowdonia.
The detached cottage makes the most of its original features, including exposed-stone walls, latched doors and beamed ceilings. Some gorgeous antique furnishings complete the look. The compact but fully equipped kitchen is open plan to the delightful dining area, which has stunning views towards the lake. For quiet evenings in, the lounge is a warmly inviting space in which to snuggle with a book or watch TV in front of the wood burner. On the first floor, the beautiful double bedroom features an antique brass bed frame, while the beds in the twin room have antique wooden frames; both have sweet sloping ceilings and wooden beams, and share a delightful shower room. The cottage has a terraced garden and shares six acres of unenclosed land with the owner (who has their own dogs). Garden furniture is positioned to make the most of the views, and paths lead through the garden to a pebble beach by the lake. Bike storage is also available.
In a superb rural location accessed via a single track road, the cottage has walks and bike trails from its front door. You can fish for trout on the lake, and during the summer there’s a delightful café almost on your doorstep. In Trefiw, 4 miles, there’s a small shop, pub and café, as well as a working woollen mill and craft shop, while Betws-y-Coed, renowned as the activity capital of Snowdonia, is 8 miles. Conwy, 13 miles, is one of Britain’s best-preserved medieval towns, while the beach at Colwyn Bay is only 18 miles.
