This traditional coastal cottage is a soothing antidote to busy lives and energetic schedules. Set close to Mumbles' sandy beach, with bars, shops and pubs on your doorstep, this cosy property is ideal for a family or couple seeking a lovely seaside break.

Come in from a day of sandy adventures and step into the welcoming warmth of this historic cottage, where time seems to slow down. Kick off your shoes, pop the kettle on in the compact kitchen, and sink into the soft sofas beneath exposed beams and beside the lovely, ornamental fireplace. Whip up hearty portions of Welsh rarebit with many appliances and serve around the table for four. A few steps lead to the twin bedroom at bedtime, a snug little space with a porthole-style window perfect for daydreaming. Cottage-style stairs take you to the elegant bathroom, where a corner bath invites a long soak after salty air and shoreline walks. At the top of the house is the double bedroom, where muted tones, a traditional-style bed, and views stretching out across the rooftops to Swansea Bay provide cosy comfort. In the morning, serve up a delightful buffet breakfast in the steeped cottage garden and enjoy the first sips of coffee.

Right in the heart of Mumbles, you're steps from the seafront for lazy afternoons on the sand, rock pooling and ice cream strolls along the promenade. Explore nearby Langland and Caswell Bay (2 miles) for paddling and picnics, or take the coastal path out to Bracelet Bay (1.5 miles) to admire its lighthouse views. You're only 5 miles from the vast city of Swansea. This must-see is top-notch for shopping enthusiasts and foodies alike and even has a popular market to peruse. Alternatively, stop by more independent-style pubs and bars in Newton Road (1 mile).

Very comfortable accommodation in a good location for Mumbles amenities however is no good for anyone with mobility issues! We are very fit and still found the hill a big challenge! The lack of easy access to free on street parking was an issue- so for future guests put Plunch Lane or Thistleboon Drive in your satnav to get the closest free on streRead moreet parking. Hide

Lovely cottage with great views to Swansea Bay. Worth mentioning the difficulty in taking a car down the lane and finding parking nearby. Although the steep stairs are mentioned they are really steep.

The cottage is charming and the location amazing with the bay view. The agency dealt well with little issues we had (water cut and smelly towels). The cottage was cosy and quirky. It would have been helpful to be informed that there is no parking at all in the road because it is a single lane with double yellow lines. We usually found a spot on theRead more main road though. We would have appreciated to use the locked away washing machine on our two week vacation, but we were not allowed access. Otherwise, we did enjoy our stay very much, loved Mumbles and the wonderful view we had across to Oystermouth castle and the bay. Thank you. Hide
