This delightful farm stay, just 2.5 miles from Llantwit Major, makes a great base for discovering South Wales. This peaceful town has pretty streets of stone houses, independent shops and an impressive food scene all ripe for exploration – not to mention easy access to the beach (3 miles). With space for five guests, this welcoming holiday home is wonderful for families or friends keen for a pretty Welsh break.

This homely space is brimming with rustic charm, with a neutral colour scheme and plenty of natural materials. The galley kitchen has everything you need for rustling up your favourite dishes, while the open-plan lounge/diner promises cosy evenings in front of the wood burner, with Smart TV and comfy sofas to settle into. Three beautifully presented bedrooms – two doubles and one twin – have ultra-homely touches to ensure a restful night’s sleep, while a family bathroom with a walk-in shower are on hand for your morning routine. There’s also a writing desk at the end of the hallway, so you can easily catch up on a few emails if needs be. Outside, a lawned garden provides a peaceful escape with an outdoor dining set, garden bench and room to unwind. You’ll also have gated parking for two cars, making arrivals and departures nice and easy.

The local shorelines represent a dramatic stretch of the Glamorgan Heritage Coast, known for its striking cliffs, hidden coves and Jurassic fossils — perfect if you love rock pooling and coastal walks. Cowbridge (5 miles) is a great spot for a relaxed afternoon with its boutique shops and cafés, while Cardiff (20 miles) brings a bigger buzz, with its medieval castle, shopping centres and impressive dining options.
