Stroll out from this lovely Pembrokeshire cottage to discover the great natural beauty of Strumble Head. Sleeping four guests in two bedrooms, this attractive, stone-built retreat is part of a smallholding, 4.5 miles from Fishguard and 3 miles from Goodwick in magnificent South West Wales. Welcoming pets too with open paws, it could be perfect for a couple or small family with a hound in tow.

Designed to have as little impact as possible on its Welsh surroundings, this two-storey cottage features solar thermal energy, air-source heat pumps and a private water supply. Step inside to find it also has a delightful, rustic feel, with white-washed stone walls and an abundance of natural light. Make yourselves comfortable in the light-filled lounge/diner, where you can stoke up the crackling wood burner on chilly days. Settle back onto the soft seating to chat about your adventures, watch TV or read your books. Enjoy the airiness of the light-filled space and its lovely views. The galley-style kitchen is close by and encompasses everything you will need to help you cater for yourselves. Dine together at the table after whipping up hearty feasts. A twin room, with a lovely large window, beamed ceiling and en-suite shower room is also downstairs. Carefully climb the steep, alternate tread staircase to the double bedroom, with an en-suite bathroom, on the floor above. Carry morning coffee and breakfast out to your private table and chairs on summer mornings. There is private parking for two cars.

Pull on your hiking boots and strike out across the dramatic headland. Venture 3 miles to Strumble Head Lighthouse, where you can take in the sweeping coastal views and look for seals in the water. Amble around the street of Fishguard, pausing in independent shops, galleries and tea rooms as you go.

A cosy place to return to after walking locally, a great location with near by cafe and good walks. A short drive or a short hike gets you to the Mumbles with a great selection of places to eat.
