Nestled in the picturesque village of Oxwich, this five-bedroom cottage offers the perfect retreat for families and friends looking to explore the Gower Peninsula. Located 500 metres from the golden sands of Oxwich Bay, dreamy coastal strolls, bucket-and-spade beach days and water sports aplenty are at your fingertips. After each adventurous day, you’ll love returning here for BBQs in the garden and game nights in the garage.

The property’s welcoming interior flows across three levels, allowing plenty of space for relaxation and socialising. The inviting lounge is ideal after a day of exploring, with ample seating and a warm, cosy vibe. This connects to a well-appointed kitchen/diner with a breakfast bar for casual bites, a dining table for group meals, and patio doors leading outside. When it’s time for bed, five bedrooms are spread across all three levels. A ground-floor bunkroom is ideal for children, set next to a convenient utility and shower room. Three bedrooms are situated on the first floor: a master king-size bedroom with an en-suite Jack and Jill bathroom containing a jacuzzi bathtub, plus a king-size and a twin, which share use of the family bathroom. Set beneath the eaves on the second floor is a spectacular room with a king-size bed and a double sofa bed. The charm continues outside with a heated upper terrace for evening gatherings, a lovely grassy garden, a summerhouse, and a converted garage with table tennis and darts.

With a local store plus a handful of eateries, Oxwich makes a charming base. Get active on the water with a choice of water sports, set off along the picturesque trails of the coast path, or seek out wildflowers and birds in the Oxwich National Nature Reserve. The scenic Three Cliffs Bay is just 4 miles away, while the cosmopolitan town of Mumbles, famed for its Victorian pier, castle and unique shops, is 11 miles away.

We were so fortunate with the weather but even if the weather wasn't so good we still would have had a wonderful holiday. A home away from home. The air conditioning on the top level was a surprise bonus and appreciated. The outside terrace/decking is glorious, shade throughout the day.

We had a wonderful stay. The attention to detail in the cottage was great, eg the equipment and plenty of crockery, glasses etc in the kitchen. Bedrooms were very comfortable. An excellent family house to stay, with great facilities and in a superb position. The hosts had provided everything we needed and more, and plenty of information about local attractions and walks, which was very useful. Loved it!

A very comfortable cottage fir our Easter family holiday. There was everything that we needed. The location, just a short walk to the beach and many other lovely places to walk.

The Gables is in an excellent location, just a short walk to the wonderful Oxwich beach and all the amenities there. The house is a little dated and has been extended into the loft to provide additional accommodation. For our party of adults we didn't like the lack of privacy on the 2nd floor, but this could work for a family. The kitchen is welRead morel equipped and the dining areas in the house and outside on the compact patio are good. To the front of the house, once the gates are closed, this provides secure open access for children and dogs. The sitting room is quite small with only one 3-seater sofa and a selection of small chairs, most of which we found uncomfortable. At the time of year we visited and used the room, a large group of 8-10 might struggle to feel comfortable. The welcome pack was very much appreciated, thank you. Hide

We had the loveliest of weekends in "The Gables" celebrating my husbands 60th with extended family. The house was able to accommodate all of us easily and very comfortably. The top floor was very popular with the youngsters (with a gorgeous view to the sea), the bedrooms generous and very comfortable and the kitchen and lounge area perfect for all Read moreof us to meet and eat together. The location is very quiet, the lane is not busy at all. Nothing to disturb your sleep apart from the bird song in the morning. Easy parking for 3 cars at least. With our two dogs it was perfect to just walk a very short distance to the beautiful Oxwich bay beach. Our lovely host left us with all the information we needed, including maps and walking suggestions. As an extra welcome gesture a little hamper with food goodies was waiting for us (those eggs from your farm were huge, thank you!) It was also very well catered for for our two dogs with extra cages provided. We are very much looking forward to coming again. Hide
