Lose yourselves in the views out over the picturesque Mawwddach Estuary from this truly special, Welsh retreat. Sleeping six guests, the three-bedroom, single-storey hideaway, which welcomes four-legged friends, sits in a commanding position, 2.5 miles from Barmouth, in North Wales. Enjoying exceptional privacy and serenity, it nestles in gorgeous, enclosed gardens and has a wood burner for winter stays.

Pull yourselves away from the incredible scenery to step inside this 1920s lodge house. Discover it has something of an Alpine feel inside, with an abundance of natural, original wood. Shed your outerwear in the porch, where there is also access to a WC, then wander into the kitchen/diner, where a central island houses appliances and equipment to help you cater for yourselves and there is a table to congregate at for meals. Open the glass doors that frame the views on warm days so people can step out to the deck. The large lounge is equally inviting. Sink back into the soft seating in here to gaze out at the spectacular scenery through the huge picture window. Light the wood burner so it throws its warmth across the room and switch on the Smart TV. The three bedrooms, two doubles and a twin, all also look out over your picturesque surroundings. There is a family shower room for all guests to enjoy. Spill out onto the covered deck to recline and take in the views. Play games with children and pets on the grass as the BBQ heats up. There is private, off-road parking here for three cars.

Head into Barmouth to go to the beach, stock up on local produce, dine out and take a boat trip out into beautiful Bae Ceredigion. Visit Harlech, 13 miles away, to spend time on its golden sands and to see the castle.

A beautiful property in a stunning location. Well equipped (other than a hair drier). The quietness and serenity was just what was needed and even with the 'not so kind' weather, this house gave us the break we needed. Look out for the huge variety of birds especially the very loud cuckoo, field voles and the visiting hare! We will definitely be Read morevisiting again. Hide

Cilynys is a wonderful cottage/cabin in an awesome location in the hills above Barmouth, remote yet easily accessible by car. Glorious views out across the estuary to the Cadair Idris range from the lounge and the covered veranda. Cilynys is very comfortable, cozy and has a kitchen with everything we needed for a fab fortnight. Many fine walks intoRead more the hills from the front door, with stunning views all around. Nearby Barmouth is a rather lovely old style seaside town, with good pubs, cafes, shops and a vast golden sandy beach. Hide

The views from the cottage on a clear day, are stunning. The cottage has been beautifully restored and furnished, with high quality linens and towels. Peace and tranquility reign, and we thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay, even though the weather wasnt very kind to us. Its a true haven for walkers and hikers with plenty of pathways to explore.

Absolutely stunning location with fantastic views of Mawddach estuary and Cadair Idris.
