Perched on a hill in the picturesque harbour town of Aberdyfi (Aberdovey), this delightful Welsh cottage sets the scene for a relaxing coastal escape. With its elevated position offering dazzling sea views and a quirky, characterful interior, this dog-friendly abode, which sleeps four, is ideal for families and friends who love the outdoors, water sports or just relaxing by the sea.

A sloped path leads up to the cottage, from where there are superb views over the village and sea. Inside, it exudes warmth and personality throughout with a welcoming, farmhouse-style kitchen/diner at its heart. Colourful tiles, painted cabinets and a central table invite sociable mealtimes, while a cosy lounge with an assortment of seating is ideal for unwinding after the day’s adventures. Upstairs, two thoughtfully styled bedrooms – one spacious double with a wrought-iron bed and a cosy twin with fairy lights – offer restful spaces with a hint of retro charm. The family bathroom is bright and practical, while outside the terraced garden drapes over three levels, inviting you to dine alfresco, fire up the small gas BBQ or soak up panoramic views from the top tier. Secure bike storage and direct access to scenic footpaths make this a great choice for walkers and cyclists, while a permit is provided for a local car park (400 metres).

Located at the southern reaches of Snowdonia National Park, Aberdyfi is famed for its colourful houses, friendly atmosphere and excellent water sports, including sailing, rowing, paddleboarding and fishing. The championship golf course on the village edge is a treat for keen golfers, while the Wales Coast Path, Cardigan Bay coastline and Dyfi Valley Way offer endless opportunities for exploration on foot or by bike. Inland, the market town of Machynlleth (11 miles) is renowned for its art scene and independent shops.
