Nestled in the village of Defynnog, this characterful cottage promises a memorable rural retreat in the Brecon Beacons National Park. The property backs onto an ancient churchyard, home to what is believed to be the oldest yew tree in Europe - a remarkable and atmospheric backdrop to your stay. Sleeping four guests in two bedrooms, this dog-friendly abode is ideal for those seeking to combine outdoor adventure with heritage charm.

Inside, this two-storey stone cottage has been lovingly renovated to blend original features with homely touches, creating a warm and inviting space. Unwind in the lounge after days of adventure, where squashy sofas are arranged around a red wood burner set in a feature stone fireplace. Original wooden doors, low beams and ceilings and exposed stonework add to the property's character, while the bright kitchen is a delight to prepare meals in with its archway-framed view. Savour home-cooked meals of delicious local produce at the dining table, before heading up the steep, cottage-style stairs to rest in two beautifully appointed bedrooms, a king-size and a twin. A family shower room completes the interior, while outside guests benefit from private use of a peaceful, grassy garden, set about 20 metres along a lane. A raised bench invites you to linger over valley views while enjoying your morning cuppa or an evening glass of wine. On-street parking is subject to availability.
