Located on the Wales-England border, this Georgian cottage provides an elegant country retreat for families and groups of friends. Light and spacious, it's the kind of house where everyone can spread out yet still come together for sociable meals and evenings by the fire. Six guests and two canine companions have the run of this property, which includes a stunning lounge, a library and games room, seven acres of land with fishing rights and a private hot tub.
Inside, the cottage has been lovingly modernised, blending warmth and sophistication with original features. Light-filled, spacious and oh-so-stylish, the lounge is a delight to relax in with plush sofas, a Smart TV and a wood burner for chilly evenings. The kitchen/diner is bright and airy with plenty of space to prepare food and a modern dining table for long, lazy meals. A generous snug offers additional space whether you want to curl up with a book in the library or challenge one of your travelling companions to a football match. Upstairs, three roomy bedrooms offers flexible accommodation. Choose between a king-size with an en-suite, a second king-size, and a room with twin zip-and-link beds that can be made up as a super-king-size on request. All feature crisp linens, soothing colour schemes and far-reaching country views. A family bathroom plus a downstairs utility room and separate WC offer comfort and convenience. Outside, the private garden is a haven of tranquillity where birdsong fills the air and evenings can be savoured over a BBQ. Relax and unwind in your own private hot tub during your stay, the perfect way to enjoy a peaceful escape and soak up the stunning surroundings. Guests are welcome to explore the private woodland and have fishing rights on the river, and there's parking for two cars.
It's less than a mile to Llanfair Caereinion with its pubs, independent shops and famous steam railway. Welshpool (8 miles) charms with its Georgian high street and impressive Powis Castle and Garden, while the ruins of Montgomery Castle (12.5 miles) and the gardens at Glansevern Hall near Berriew (9 miles) offer rewarding day trips. Keen walkers can hike parts of the Offa's Dyke Path, which passes nearby.
