Set in the picturesque Usk Valley and surrounded by the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains, this cosy stone cottage offers a rural escape just 3 miles from Abergavenny. Located on a former dairy farm with a handful of other holiday cottages, this dog-friendly property sleeps four guests in two bedrooms and welcomes one lucky pup. Stylish, open-plan living and a garden with mountain views make this the perfect base after days of roaming picturesque trails and market towns.

Set in a small, private courtyard, this beautiful holiday escape is warm and welcoming with exposed stone walls, beamed ceilings and latched doors offering character, alongside pops of colour and contemporary style. Store muddy boots and coats in the entrance and head into the inviting living space, set in the glow of a warming wood burner. There’s ample comfy seating along with a solid oak dining table, while the adjoining kitchen is light and fresh with pretty cabinets and high-quality appliances. When night falls, two calming bedrooms await on the first floor, a king-size master and a cosy twin set beneath a beamed ceiling. They feature fresh white linens and Smart TVs and share use of the family bathroom. Enjoy lazy afternoons in the enclosed rear garden, which features a lawn and patio with outdoor furniture and a BBQ, against a backdrop of far-reaching mountain views. There’s private parking for two cars and secure bike storage.

This is a dream destination for outdoor enthusiasts with hiking, mountain biking, horse riding, climbing, caving, canoeing, kayaking and golf among the activities nearby. The market town of Abergavenny is renowned for its local food and drink and ruined castle, now a museum detailing local history. More recent history can be explored in the Big Pit, a mining museum near Blaenavon (6.5 miles).
