If you love fresh air, scenic walks and a village atmosphere, this charming whitewashed home makes a brilliant base for a Welsh holiday with family or friends. The two-bed home is in the heart of Weobley, a characterful village with a long history. You’ll have a convenience store, a deli and tea room, two pubs and an Indian restaurant within 0.5 miles. Film fans may recognise the village, too – Weobley was used as a filming location for the 2026 movie Hamnet, adapted from Maggie O’Farrell’s award-winning novel.
The cottage has a cosy and easy-going interior, starting with an entrance hall where you can leave muddy boots and coats before heading into the comfortable lounge. Here, a wood burner and Smart TV create a snug spot to relax. Head to the back of the house to find a well-equipped kitchen/diner, a utility room and a handy ground-floor WC. The kitchen leads to a lovely garden room with electronic retractable blinds – lovely for reading with a barista-grade hot chocolate from the machine. Upstairs, reached via cottage stairs, are two restful bedrooms – one king-size and one double – along with a small study area with a desk so you can attend to business if necessary. A family bathroom with a shower over the bath completes the indoor space. Back downstairs, head through the kitchen to reach a fully enclosed rear courtyard with table, chairs and parasol – ideal for al fresco meals while dogs potter safely nearby. Private parking is available for one car, with additional roadside parking on a first-come, first-served basis and Bell Square Car Park (200 metres).
Beyond the village, book lovers can browse the famous bookshops of Hay-on-Wye (14 miles). The city of Hereford (13 miles) has a beautiful cathedral and the National Trust’s Berrington Hall. History enthusiasts can step back in time at Croft Castle (12.5 miles) or the impressive ruins of Goodrich Castle (27 miles). Walkers are spoiled for choice – choose between the rolling landscapes of the Black Mountains (22 miles) and the Shropshire Hills National Landscape (23 miles), both with miles of scenic routes and rewarding viewpoints.
