Occupying an idyllic setting between the Llyn Peninsula and Snowdonia (Eryri) National Park, this characterful cottage provides a welcoming bolthole. Sleeping six guests in three bedrooms, this dog-friendly property boasts an enclosed garden, a separate games rooms and far-reaching views over open fields. It’s a delight for walkers, beach lovers and nature enthusiasts who want a quiet base with plenty to do nearby.

Brimming with charm, this cottage blends stone walls, flagstone floors, and timber beams with characterful agricultural equipment and country-style decor for a warm and welcoming ambiance. With a soaring, vaulted ceiling and a wood burner set in an inglenook fireplace, the lounge sets the scene for cosy evenings in front of the Smart TV. A country-style kitchen/diner offers a focal point for sociable evenings, with soothing green cabinets, a huge range oven, a sofa, and a farmhouse-style dining table. Three bedrooms are divided between the ground and first floors. Downstairs, there’s a stylish double bedroom with an en-suite shower room, along with the family bathroom. The other two bedrooms are upstairs, a cosy twin which leads to a tasteful double room, both set beneath the eaves and lit by skylights, so you can fall asleep to the stars and wake to morning light. Outside a covered seating area and games room extend the living space whatever the weather, and the surrounding grounds feature woodland and a wildlife path. Private parking is available for two cars.

The beautiful seaside resort of Criccieth (1 mile) entices with its sandy beach, 13th-century castle and variety of shops, bars and eateries, making it easy for seaside strolls and evenings out. Glorious beaches and wild nature await at Morfa Bychan (8 miles) while the Italianate village of Portmeirion (9.5 miles) offers an enchanting day out. Keen walkers can head to Snowdonia (starting from 5 miles).

Gell Cottage was a real home from home. Delightfully comfortable, well equiped and clean. Great sized, fully equiped kitchen. It is also really well placed to visit the Snowdonia National Park, the sea, castles and Portmerion. Criccieth is a lovely small town with a fabulous bakery and butcher. We had a wonderful week as a family at Gell Carol. Sonia and Alex have thought of everything for a brilliant stay. The location is peaceful but so convenient for a short drive to the beach and lots of other great days out. Book this cottage, its great!

We had a wonderful stay at this cottage! The place was spotless from top to bottom, beautifully maintained, and had everything we needed for a comfortable visit. The hosts were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive without ever being intrusive. You can really tell they care about creating a warm and relaxing experience for their guests. Absolutely wonderful stay! Perfect place to get away from things and enjoy. Everything has been thought of and finished to a high standard. Underfloor heating, hotel quality towels, warm bedding, filtered water, amazing shower, all cooking equipment and board games to suit all. Log burner was lovely but if not comfortable with that then the central heating keeps it cosy. 5 min drive to the beach or take a walk around the cottage in the vast fields and hills. Book.
