With fields front and back plus enormous Newgale Beach less than a mile away, this country cottage makes a fabulous base for a pet-loving party. A choice of social spaces, three bedrooms – including a ground-floor en-suite – and an enclosed garden ensure everyone has space to unwind.

Along a hedge-lined lane on the outskirtsof Penycwm, this detached dwelling has driveway parking so you can unpack at your own pace. Leave your outdoor gear in the entrance hall then head into the lounge, where soft seating is arranged before a SkyTV. To the right, the study/games room has a desk and a selection of board games for old-fashioned family fun. Move from the lounge into the contemporary kitchen and dining room to find all the essentials for effortless self-catering plus patio doors onto the garden. Adjacent, a single bedroom with its own shower room provides convenient accommodation for anyone who prefers ground-floor living. A family bathroom and two further bedrooms are on the first floor – choose between a king-size and a twin bedroom and you’ll soon be sleeping soundly. For a serious hike head 5.5 miles across Dinas Fach headland to the beautiful harbour at Solva. The location is OK to explore Pembrokeshire - about 3 miles outside of Solva which has great restaurants and pubs. There is a small local supermarket in Solva and bigger supermarkets in St Davids and Haverford West. If you want to walk to get food and drink then this is not so easy.. The main bed is comfortable (but quite low) and the shower down sRead moretairs is good. The garden is secure - handy if you have a dog. The walk from the house down to the shore takes 20 minutes and is pleasant. It actually joins the Pembrokeshire coastal Path so you can have a decent walk if you want to. The cottage is tired and needs quite a lot of TLC. The upstairs bathroom floor tiles need repairing properly for example. The TV did not work for us and the hot water had to be switched on remotely as it was not working when we arrived. The cottage was missing some essentials like salt and pepper but did have cleaning materials. There are no instructions on refuse - the local rules need explaining. There is a goodie box containing local produce as a welcome gift - ours had a packet of out of date coffee and a shower bomb - very underwhelming - a bit like the cottage. Hide

1. Beautiful location. The Wales coast path was 15/20 min walk down a track. 2. Info on local attractions/facilities was brilliant - shops, dog beaches, where to go etc. 3. The house was spotless and very well organised. The games room well stocked with DVDs for all ages, toys for children and dogs plus chlidren's books. 4. The enclosed garden wRead moreell laid out, bench with seating and washing line, backed onto farmland. 5. A very low traffic area, noise wasn't a problem. 6. The WELCOME PACK was appreciated. It included dog treats too. 7. We had a problem with equipment whilst there. This was fixed by a technician within 24 hours of it being reported. Hide

Dill Cottage is a beautiful property that sits within beautiful countryside and only a very short distance from a spectacular beach. The cottage itself is very well equipped with everything needed for your stay. The beds were very clean and comfortable and the bathrooms were spotlessly clean, as was the kitchen. The outside space was safe and secRead moreure for young children and dogs to roam and play safely. Its a very calm and quiet location, making it the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle and just relax and unwind. Not too far from the cottage was the most amazing fish and chip restaurant, serving takeaway food. The best fish n chips ever!! We saw beautiful sunrises and sunsets and its the perfect place to surf the waves too. Honestly the most beautiful place we have stayed in for a while. We will definitely be booking again. Thank you for a wonderful holiday! Hide
