Located in a truly picturesque setting in Llanelltyd, with breathtaking views of the estuary and mountains, this idyllic stone cottage, offering scenic walks from the doorstep, is the perfect base for a North Wales escape.
Return to this picturesque bolthole, past babbling brook and feature planting, and through the front door to kick off boots and hang coats in the entrance hallway. Lead the way through to the spacious kitchen/diner to refuel with some tasty treats and delicious local delicacies. Accessed via a small set of steps, set on the mezzanine level overlooking the kitchen/diner, the cosy lounge beckons with a wood-burner-effect electric fire and panoramic views across the Mawddach Estuary towards Cader Idris. If you’ve still got energy to burn, head outside to the games barn, a haven for children and big kids alike. Retire upstairs for a well-deserved rest, with two bedrooms to choose from, one double and one twin, which share a wonderfully peaceful ambience. Enjoy the soothing sounds of the brook as you soak up the fresh mountain air in the enclosed garden. Private parking for two cars is available.
The small village of Llanelltyd is 3 miles from Dolgellau, a former slate town in the shadow of Cadair Idris, home to plenty of restaurants, cafes, shops and pubs to enjoy. The public footpath, starting from the doorstep, leads to forest tracks that ascend to the New Precipice Walk, which offers outstanding views of the Mawddach Estuary. The footpath also provides access to Llyn Tan-y-Graig Lake for wild water swimming and paddling. The world-renowned Coed y Brenin Mountain Biking Centre is just 3 miles away, and for walkers, the 9-mile Mawddach Trail can be joined over the unique toll bridge at Penmaenpool, a mile away. The gloriously sandy Barmouth Beach can be reached within 5 miles.
