Whether you’re searching for a countryside escape, a walker’s paradise or somewhere to reconnect with nature, this stone-built cottage lying in the shadow of Cader Idris offers a peaceful base for families and groups of friends.
At the end of a day’s adventure, kick off your walking shoes in the boot room and head down a few steps to the kitchen/diner. Enjoy lovely green views as you rustle up some tasty treats and warm chilly toes beside the roaring wood burner. A few more steps down lead into the adjoining lounge/diner, which is brimming with period touches including exposed brickwork, ceiling beams and a second wood burner. Sharing the same charm and soothing colour palette as the ground floor, the three blissful bedrooms upstairs provide a haven of tranquillity to retire to. There are two king-size bedrooms, one benefiting from en-suite facilities, and one twin bedroom on offer. Outside, you can soak up the Welsh mountain air in the fenced garden, complete with outdoor furniture, a fire pit and charcoal BBQ. There is private parking for up to five cars, though please note that the final section of the track may be inaccessible when it’s been snowing.
This wonderfully scenic spot in the foothills of Cader Idris is surrounded by dramatic landscapes, a haven for keen outdoor explorers with plenty of walking routes awaiting to be explored from the doorstep. Experienced walkers will be keen to tackle Cader Idris itself, accessible via three separate routes. The picturesque town of Dolgellau, situated 4 miles away, boasts more listed buildings than any other town in Wales, along with plenty of restaurants, cafes, shops, and pubs to enjoy. The world-renowned Coed y Brenin Mountain Biking Centre, as well as the beautifully sandy beaches at Fairbourne and Barmouth, can be reached within 11 miles.
