Bursting with period charm, this quaint country cottage tucked away in an idyllic spot in the heart of the Welsh Marches is perfect for couples and families craving an escape to the countryside.

Overlooking the lane and woodland, the kitchen/diner echoes the cottage’s rich history, boasting a wood burner set inside an inglenook fireplace, ceiling beams and exposed stonework. Embracing lovely green views, the dining room features a set of French doors to the garden, perfect for al fresco living. Sit back and unwind in the lovely lounge, which boasts another wood burner and a beamed ceiling. Upstairs, you’ll find one king-size bedroom and one twin zip-and-link bedroom (can be made into a super-king-size at an additional cost) tucked beneath the eaves; the master bedroom is accessed through the bathroom. Outside, the enclosed front garden and rear garden, which continues past a small wooden barn and into the orchard, provide plenty of space to soak up your surroundings. There is no barrier between the stream and the lane at the front of the cottage, so care should be taken with young children. There is private parking for three cars.

Located near the England/Wales border, this scenic spot is famed for its magnificent countryside, rolling green fields, wooded valleys, and historic walking trails perfect for keen hikers, cyclists and outdoor explorers. Boasting an array of independent shops, traditional pubs and restaurants, the delightful market town of Kington can be reached within 2 miles. Lace up your hiking boots to conquer the iconic walking routes of Offa’s Dyke, the Mortimer Trail and Hergest Ridge (6 miles), an elevated ridge boasting panoramic vistas. Hergest Croft Gardens, known for its superb plant collections, and the Small Breeds Farm Park & Owl Centre, are both within 3.5 miles of the doorstep.
